Well, I know news is pouring in particulary for Sony systems. Yet, I really don't see anyone taking a step back and realizing how crazy gaming is going to be by the end of this year! PNP, XBox LIve, Rev's classic donwloads, I mean, one console is going to be able to play like 5,000 games out of the box! While I'm leaning more towards PS3, and Rev because they are showing the push more towards full-blown downloadable games a little more than M$, it's still up to a person's preference. Next year, I'll be able to turn on my PS3, browse the web on a 32 in. HDTV, then, check to see who's online in Killzone or MGS4, boot up SFA3 real quick for a few fights, download a new wallpaper for my background, and finally, log on to MGS4 and compete in 50 player matches! What!?!!? that's too crazy to even comprehend, but it's exactly what these new consoles are trying to do for us. The possiblities are endless when u have downloadable content and OS's to run all that software on. Innovation may not be as impressive as it once was, but the technology is more than making up for it. We are truly in the next-gen of gaming...Who will come out on top this time-who knows. I'm most excited with Sony currently, but that could easily change but November. M$ now has a chance to take over the industry with a full 8 months left of being the only next-gen system out. And who know's what Ninty is cooking up with that crazy controller! I'm defintely excited for the next gen, but not at all anxious. Final Fantasy 12, Kingdom Hearts 2, and MGS3Sub. will hold me over well into the next era of gaming. I really just wanted every1 to appreciate how much MORE gaming will come into the limelight with these new systems. Take a deep breath...relax...and be a kid again...ISn't that what gaming is all about anyway?

Wouldn't non-gaming frills take gaming out of the limelight? Otherwise, well said.

not necessarily phoenixphire, all these features are really just enhancing the system to do more gaming. download music-to play in the background while u play. download wallpapers of ur favorite games, download old ps1 and ps2 classics! Then again, with too many features, this could easily turn the PS3 into a slow loading PC that suffers the same problems as a desktop-which would SUCK...

I don't know what kind of PC your running buddy, but I'm running UT2004, Battlefield 2, and playing my N64 all at the same time.

i see MS in moving it with online and just much nice looking games like Burnout Revenge, DOA 4, and fight night.
I see Nintendo moving it with control and the virtual console
I see sony moving it with blu ray. it worked with PS2 and dvd, PS3 will be the cheapest blu ray player and be a gaming system
