New MMOFPSRTSRPG for PS3, PC & 360

Cellien Studios, a company part of Irish Star Cave Studios, has officially announced Terra: Formations, a game for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Terra: Formations is an MMOFPSRTSRPG (what a mouthful, in other words: Massively Multiplayer-Online-First Person Shooter, Real Time Strategy-Role Playing Game). It's made the rounds of the more recent conventions, where it's created quite a stir. This game's still in development, though, plus the developers are still looking for a publisher, so no release date can be set yet.

Players have a lot of options - they can choose to be either humans or aliens and either run on the battlefield or be the commander, and are also able to select (from a very wide range of choices) which weapons and vehicles they can use.

how exotic. idea has been around for a long time. :pepper: this is just anouther case of a game studio creating some in game models, displaying a grocery list of features, and ofcourse is absolute vaporware.

I remember a game like this. It works well in multiplayer, with one person playing the RTS side of things and other people running around in FPS mode. The RTS guy can look at the small FPS guys running around, but he can control them. I think he can give them options of where to go - like "you go here" and the person can be like "k" or "stfu".

In Danish, we'd translate"smörgåsbord"(smørgåsbord) as buttergoosetable. Nothing really, just a funny fact. But I agree. The acronym is absurd...

Bit of both, Halo + UT + boring steroetypes = those screens + possable good and new gameplay + an awesome acronym = cool. The formula for success, ehhh.....or maybe not.

After looking at them again there is defently more Halo influence then anything else though.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Tribes yet! This game looks like Tribes but lots more bland...probably because it's an MMO. As a PlanetSide player though, I've been dying for SOMEBODY to enter the MMOFPS field as it has a ridiculous amount of potential, so hopefully they do some things right. Looking at those screens though, I can't see myself enjoying that :-(

The gameplay may be very original depending on how they do it, but I agree that FPS's are getting to be way to much.
