Nope. Not I. No reason to be any more sick of mech games than we have reason to be sick of any other types of games. How about the relentless waves of football games? How about the legions of first-person shooters? More specifically, how about the inceasant barage of squad-based military shooters? Then what about the thousands of racing games that come out every year? Let us not forget the scores of RPGs that, more often than not, follow the same formulas and cliches.
Nah, I'm not sick of mech games.

I think it looks sweet. Battlefield 2 was a great game, and I'm happy to see that DICE isn't sticking around to suck what they can from its success, it seems like they want to try new things. That cloaking guy looked real awesome in the trailer, and the flying vehicles looked real cool, but that gameplay was like 4 or 5 seconds long so not much to say about that :-p

did you watch the second movie? its had alot more gameplay then the "leaked gameplay footage". this game looks pretty sweet i think, but does anyone else think they are rushing it? maybe it was in development since before the release of bf2. who knows.

The game looks pretty solid. seems to have a decent story, compared to the other Battlefield games. I looke forward to trying this out.

thats what i was thinking, it looks decent, but it doesnt scream next gen to me. but than again this is DICE, they arent the best developers on the planet..knowing them it would be buggy as hell on the PC.

I have the right to be negative, this is DICE! :D seems like a Mech Warrior clone with G.I....almost like a water down KillZone. I thought i was watching a Global Warming ad, for a minute...

EA to Nab All of DICE
The Battlefield developer will soon be an official EA studio.
by David Adams
March 17, 2006 - Electronic Arts is on the verge of fully owning Battlefield developer Digital Illusions CE (DICE) as both companies have agreed to a merger proposal which would add DICE to the publisher's roster of internal studios.
Electronic Arts currently holds a 68 percent stake in the Swedish studio. The two companies have collaborated on the popular Battlefield franchise, which began with first-person combat title Battlefield 1942 on the PC in 2002 and has spawned a number of follow-ups across platforms, including last year's Battlefield 2.
As part of the merger, DICE shareholders will SEK 67.50 per share in cash. The deal is subject to two-thirds approval at the DICE's Annual General Shareholders Meeting, set for May 24, 2006.

Are you still mad about BF:Vietnam?

hmmm...laser guns, flying vehicles, and walking tanks?
Looks alot like Star Wars: Battlefront.
It does look better albiet, but I think the Battlefield franchise might have lost its charm with this one.
I hope I'm wrong though.

I like to see that they're not afraid to try new things, though. BF Vietnam was garbage as far as I'm concerned (that was DICE, right? or was that a different studio?), but 1942 and BF2 are really fun games. I think they can pull it off, but we'll see. Other people were right when they said this game doesn't scream "next-gen" though :-p
