Hi i made this program not long ago which simulates lots of clouds. See who can get the most! Make sure you scan it for viruses just incase my scanner missed any. There shouldnt be any problems with it though.

Don't worry peeps, its not a virus. Yeah, this is on my 5 year old computer and he about died. I had winamp, aim, and max on during this, so one can add a couple more clouds to that score. My comp sucks...

colin, 112 clouds is pretty good, especially for a 5 yo PC.

My main downfall is the lack of a graphics card.

I have a Pentium D 830, 1GB of DDR2 5300 RAM so there's nothing wrong there, but the graphics are integrated.

Yeah I figured it would be a little high, just a basic comp for me :D. If there was a MaxosX version then I would rock your socks off since the G5 I have is pretty much the biggest thing I have ever used.
I'll see if I can put a copy on the SGI comp at work tomorrow since it is build for Graphic rendering Specs here (http://www.sgi.com/products/visualization/prism/configs.html) (the desktop model)

haha, yeah what can I say rendering a 8.5/11 1200DPI image in full color eats norrmal desktops alive. Everything I personally do is a on G5 qual core w/8gigs of ram. the SGI is only for turning my work into printable templates for the press to run 10k pages within an hour. Very interesting cycle I might try and take some pics of out presses. Since they are VERy large (like one being 106 feet long and 27 feet tall.)

EDIT2:
I win :D
Why?
Because I'm chosing to square my score :p - While it is a cool program it isn't dual processor aware and only ever manages 50% cpu power and even with nearly half my cpu free it didn't sustain 50% which seemed strange to me but since I got this computer most things don't sustain anything. I even got a program for putting it under full load and it wouldnt go up to 100% which I couldn't work out at all - I was still able to do all sorts

Yeah, but I was at work, so I can't just go and shut down all my processes. So I only ran it on a test box.

2 reasons I said it.

1. I was working. Don't feel like shutting everything down in the middle of work.

2. I wanted to stress test it under working conditions and compare that to a bare operations system later.

I ain't got the kinda cash to buy a graphics card and a PS3. Time is getting tight.
HT sucks. IT shows up as 2 processors but i watched all the demos on the intel site. The claim that its just using extra resources that arent being used. For example. Instead of running norton then your game then norton then your game. If norton isn't using the full cpu resources, It runs norton and runs your game in the gaps.
Dual core is 10x better. Games are the only things that max out my cpu. I can run a video editor, music, msn, internet explorer and I dunno some next thing and it still works fine. I used 1 program that was meant to push your cpu to 100% to test it for bugs after overclocking (not that i have overclocked) and it just sticks at about 90 and the system was still responsive going everything I wanted

Garfunkel
04-13-2006, 02:04 PM
I think anyone who has dual core (including me) believe that they made the right decision and would not turn back. I can run avast antivirus, spybot, mediamonkey/quintessential mediaplayer, half life 2 and firefox at the same time and it is perfectly responsive, i have never realy lost any control over my computer since i have got it.

I look at the P4 3.2 ghz that i was gonna buy and laugh.
