I just got back from Christmas shopping today and my mom got me an Xbox w/tetris worlds and clone wars and she also got me Xbox Live w/mechassault. I am thinking of asking for these other games from my dad...

I wouldn't get PGR and PGR2, almost the same thing, but PGR2 looks slightly better and it's live.

Crimson Skies is great on live, and single player mode, same for Rainbow Six 3.

Tell your mom to return the system. Starting tomorrow you can get the Xbox with a free copy of either Halo or Midtown Madness 3 for free at Circuit City. That should save some money and free up another game.

Anything that's 4-port should work. My wirless router even had a big logo on it that said it was Xbox compadible. Because I have the laptop in my room, I got a 4-port wireless router. If you want to run a laptop or anything similar, keep an eye out for sales on them; that's how I got mine (@ CompUSA). And when you see something on sale, look it up at www.pricewatch.com (or just check pricewatch).

• Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind ---> don't get this, its buggy (Morrowind GOTY version is 10$ extra with the expansion packs and bug fixes if you really want it)
• DVD Playback Kit ---> you don't really need this ...you can get it later
• Halo ---> you'll be getting this free if you return your Xbox and get it at Circuit City w/ Halo free

oh damn, all of those games are really good. Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind is probably the best game I have ever played, but you might want to consider getting the GOTY Edition. Halo is a no-brainer. And the rest are really great, my decision: Buy them all.

I was in the exact same situation awhile ago. I did some careful searching and bought the D-Link Ethernet Broadband Router model DI-604. It's Xbox Live compatible and works perfectly.
