If I buy a 360wired controller. Will it work on WinXP?

Hi,

You read the thread title. I am going to buy a 360 wired controller from a shop and was wondering if the Windows version of this thing is any different or these two are the same thing.

Any helping guidelines in this matter are highly appreciated. Don't give hints just say it clearly, two different things or are they similar? Should I just buy a 360 wired controller and hook to my PC and it'll work it out itself? Or no?

I was going to buy one for emulators, but I'm still not sure if I will or not.
