Hi,
in a few months will be the FIFA WM 2006 here in Germany. Who is going to get the trophy? I think Germany will do it. We have a lot of good players. Perhaps Jens Lehman (Arsenal Londen) oder Oliver Kahn (Bayern München). But there is also Miro Klose (Werder Bremen) or Michael Ballack (Bayern München). So, Germany for the win!

Who are your favorite players?
No fair, you get that tournement AND the world cup? Are you going to the world cup? I know I sure as hell would if I lived in Germany. I know a guy that has quarter finals, semi finals, and finals tickets. Lucky guy.

Hmm i would say England would get it but then i would be lying to myself, we always seem to get a bit over confident at the last minute and screw up...
England could only win it if they play a 4-4-2
Robinson in goal, Cole, Neville, Rio and Carragher at the back
Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham and Joe Cole in midfield
Rooney and Owen up front
but Brazil will win

yeah Brazil will most deffiantely win, unless there is some random wildcard that decides to pull it off

It will be england vs Brazil in the final...Id like to see us win it but aslong as we knock out the bastard germans and the argies....ill be cool
EVERYTIME a tourney comes along the whole of england believe this is our year, and it never is because were full of greedy bastards such as rio ferdinand who suck...
But...saying that, if we are ever going to win it again, this is the best sqaud to do it with

England? No! Not withour Roony!
Rooney may still be in the squad, Sven said that if there's any chnce of him being fit for any game he'll be playing
Owen should still play, they'll just have to use freak abit more than planned

you do know svennis is always taking england just far enough and then letting sweden beat them if they play each other... right?
He's the ultimate swedish infiltrator. He hates all of you pale fat brtains... he said so himself in a swedish magazine!

^ England have played sweden many times...and should of won them all...sweden suck
Rooney will miss the first and maybe 2nd group game...which means i see no reason why sven should still take him & owen...Lets face it we arnt shouldnt need rooney or owen against paraguay, trindad and sweden
I think it would be a bad idea to take Rooney to Germany. I just get the feeling that he could end up ruining his career by trying to get fit too quickly. Let's face it, he's potentially got another 3 World Cups ahead of him, so it would be stupid to risk anything taking him this time.
Hopefully Owen will be fit in time, not too sure who else we should take instead of Rooney. Being a Charlton fan, I would immediately say Darren Bent, but I don't think that he has enough experience at this kind of level yet. Give him another season or two to settle into Premiership football properly, then maybe give him a go.
At the moment, I would say that Defoe or Crouch would be good, possibly Andrew Johnson.

^ I d have to disagree about taking bent...But i do agree that he isn't ready, he is ok at club level but i just don't think he is good enough at international level, especially not to be thrown into a team at such an important time...Maybe the next three friendlys will give him time to adapt to the team. I agree that russhing rooney back is a bad idea as we don't need him out for good....Obviiusly leave it till the last minute but unless he is 100% fit he should not go.
As for owen i dont think he will be sharp enough to play well, especially not consitantly over 90 minutes...He has barely played this season. Defoe is the best choice but even he hasnt been playing regurly and AJ is good but plays for a shit team

Get Andy Johnson in!
J/k
Im thinking maybe get Heskey is cuz him and Owen have played together alot and know each others style, but...I dunno. Crouch and Owen partnership seems to be the best right now.

Yes, crouch and owen will be the best 2nd choice as crouch wins headers and owen has the pace to run onto them. As for heskey going...
....Heskey is and always will be possibly one of the worst strikers iv ever seen...Look at the size of him and he still falls down far too easily...any england fan knows heskey sucks lol
AJ isn't actually a bad player...id like to see him go to germany personally

actually sweden havent lost a home game to england in 30 years or something.
IMHO england is as a crappy football nation as you could possibly find. I mean in the ratio between the actual quality of the national leauge (which is superb) and the nation's merits in international cups (which is horrible!!).
Sweden, for example, is a small nation that finished in 3rd place in the 94 world cup. I remember england losing to the germans in some semi final on penalties... but that's about the best i've ever seen england play and the germans were crap that year. At least sweden lost to brazil the year they hand ronaldo, romario and bebeto...
Also i remeber that one time david seaman dropped a very easy ball and england lost the game. That was hilarious.
The fact that you have to go to sweden to find a decent manager is kind of funny too... + your most famous player is only famous because he's been shagging the worst singer in the UK....
Disclaimer: The above statement is just a bold attempt to get the UK posse really, really upset so that this thread will be hot enough to survive all thru the remaining month until the world cup starts. I actually really like england.

Firstly, the england team sheet is one of the best u will find in the world...
Seamen dropping a ball is nothing out of the origonal, it always happend but we have Paul Robbinson now who is a diffrent class to seamen.
England also SHOULD of done better in the last two tournament but had goals dissalowed which had nothing wrong with them (both scored by sol campbell)...is it cos he is black?...lol...
In conclusion england>Sweden

I wasn't saying they should take him. But now Sven's picked Walcott. What the hell is going on? He's never seen him play a match, he's never played a Premiership match before, and now he's going to the World Cup. Madness.
I also have to disagree with some of the other choices. Wayne Bridge has been injured for most of the season, and has played about 3 or 4 games. When he played for England against Argentina, the only match he had played before was in Chelsea's defeat to Charlton in the Carling Cup.
Why hasn't Wright-Phillips been picked. He's an amazing player. Sure, he hasn't played THAT many games for Chelsea (14 or 15 games I think), but you can't miss out someone of his calibre and take someone else who is essentially an unknown quantity. I also think that Defoe should've been put in the squad. I think he's one of the five backup players at the moment, but I think they should've just left Rooney out and put Defoe in.
And as for the guy slating the England team, grow up.....

Agreed...But, sven is hoping willcott will have the same impact on this world cup as micheal owen did in his first back in 98. I saw willcott play this season when he was still with southampton (watford vs southampton..watford won 3-0 whoooo), and willcott was there best player he has a large amount of pace that may damage defences with slow centre back, also ronaldinho and eto have reported to of said he will do well...

I also agree but thing is he is the only option as cover for Ashley cole at left back, we dont have another one good enough to cover him if he breaks down, so Bridge always has a certain place in the team.

Yes, i agree wrightphillips should of been taken atleast as cover for beckham who will have another shit tournament (i gurantee it), and the fact lennon has been included and not wright phillips is a joke if you ask me, He shouldnt of left rooney out as if there is any chance he can play we should take it, but than ofcourse i also agree on the defoe situation as he is a great player but he has barely played.
Sven said he left out defoe because of lack of games played...but what about wallcott...god damn swede makes no sense!...Speed up Mclaren that's what i say

so why do you have to import players from sweden (ljungberg, mellberg) to your league and have a swedish coach for your national team?
and explain why during the the last 25 years sweden won 11 times over england it was a draw game 4 times and england only won 6?
And sweden is really a quite small country... it's just that we have a MUCH higher percentage of the population that have the potential to become successful players. It's in our blood. The only thing that the average joe in the UK does really well in the UK is eating greasy chips and being lazy....
In sweden we actually give all 5 year olds a chance to go to a summercamp to learn football for three weeks. It's included in the swedish goverments budget.
this too is just mindless flaming to get the pre world cup bashing started
Kay B

The swedish players that are imported, are imported because they are good players, if you notice, I said the team wasnt too good...not the players. a few good players dont make a good team.
Recent results between england and sweded havent been because sweded have played well, it's because england have played badly...If in the WC sweded play better and beat england i will admit defeat but without slagging them off, i dont like sweded...i dont like there style of play...
As for eating greasy chips and being lazy, hey if that gets some of the worlds most known players recognised...why stop?
Rooney...Beckham....Lampard...Joe Cole...Gerrard...Terry...Robinson
i can't think of any swedish players better than them
