what actual things have you learned from games?

I learned from Crash Bandicoot that a bandicoot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandicoots)is a real animal and not just a funny name.

I also leanred all the names of weapons and military idioms from war games. that includes fire arms, explosives, jet fighters, etc.
also, the name of some miliraty and research bodies.

from Tekken, I watched the slow motion of the grappling moves and learnd to use them. alot of them are actually real martial art moves.

I learned a whole bunch about car brands and makers from GT.

You didnt know what a Bandicoot was?

Oh well. Hmm, I know there are quite a few things that Ive learned, but they seemed to have eluded my mind for now... (figures).

I guess one thing would be eye-hand coodination.

I think alot faster now, can process things faster and am able to spot things. Really more aware of my surroundings.

I'm sure there are many more that I just haven't thought of.

Off the top of my head, I can't really think of much of anything that I've learned from video games save for some driving techniques. What I mean is that, by driving in some poor wintery conditions in some rally games years back, I think my virtual experience helped me a bit when it came time to drive in such conditions in reality. For example, I'm the only person that I personally know that's driven down the highway at 70 MPH in several inches of untouched, unplowed snow.
