The album's name is "10,000 Days" and it's expected to be released on May 2, so it's almost there! Thank god too because it's been forever!
Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10%2C000_Days) has a good amount of information of the album, including album art, the tracks' names, and length.
First single: on March 27, Billboard posted an article about 10,000 Days, mentioning that "Vicarious" would be the first single, to be released April 17. Toolband also confirmed that the single would be "Vicarious" and would be heard on the radio on the 17th.
Well, I found out last night from someone that the site containing the single wasn't a secured FTP and it got leaked. If you'd like to check out the song for yourself, click the following link: http://distortiononline.com/Tool_Vicar_Full.mp3 Try not to tell too many people though so the link doesn't get removed.
Less than a month baby!

Awesome, I'm listening to Vicarious now. So far, it's brilliant.
Just the other day I was using amaroK's cover manager, and for one of my Tool cd's it came up with the art for 10,000 Days. I was all "WTF?". Now I know.

Yeah. Vicarious is so awesome, it just makes me image how great the entire CD is going to be. Hell, they've been working on it for 5 years, so it HAS to be good!
10,000 Days has some badass album art, along with all of their other albums. I can't wait until they release some new music videos.

Yeah! Tool had some absolutely incredible music videos.
Oh man, I haven't listened to Tool for years.
I thought I'd moved away from enjoying Tool but this song is amazing!
I might get out my Tool albums and listen to them again, but I might not.
It seems I can't go a single sentence without saying the name 'Tool'.
Thanks for this new Tool song!

I found the song quite boring and musically messy.

Messy? They couldn't be any more on point... that intro with the intricate bass and guitar parts working together with such beautiful timing.... hardly messy. Not to mention Danny's drum work... top notch. Maynard's lyrics are spot on as always.

They played it on the radio yesterday and I was like "damn, that was fairly quick".
That is all.

Dunno...I actually thought the song itself was pretty flat. Not really any kind of momentum, just "part one, part two, outro". Yeah, all the whack-ass augmented chords are nice, but it's not something I can groove to. Not bad, but not great. Not nearly as bad as the RHCP's new single.

Yeah, definitely not too hard to find. From what I've heard, its everything we love about Tool, only new.
I'm still amazed that the last album from them was when I was in high school. Getting old.
And yes, I'll be buying it.

the new tool single takes a minute to grow on you, it has a lot more appeal once you know the lyrics.

you have to understand what vicarious means, I actually loved it the first time I heard it!

so did I, I was just saying that it has only gotten better the more I hear it. the whole album is a masterpiece! I know vicarious may end up being the only single, maybe the pot or right in two... the rest of the record isn't exactly radio frendly
Coded-Dude

radio frendly
off topic: I hate those words....there is not a genre out there that doesn't get some play on th radio these days, but its all from corporate whores generating jukebox playlists of what they think is/will be hot. 15% new artists, 85% new work form established artists.
But think about it; you can hear heavy metal, gangster rap, emo cutting gheyness, faggoty pop, country, classics, classical, opera, and everything else. Radio Friendly does no exist, the term should be changed to corporate friendly.
This is one reason I DON'T listen to the radio....ever!

I didn't think it'd be "out" already.
Well, this will hold me over until it actually comes out, then I can buy it.

well, I was mainly referring to the legnth of the songs, considering 2 of them top 11 minutes, and the rest avg. 7 mins. But I do agree.

They would play them on the local rock stations here. They've played a lot of long ass songs before.

It was okay. I felt bored with it, but it was still TOOL, and it was still worth listening to, and worth buying.
BTW, I'm merging this with the other thread...

They're playing in Detroit on the 12th. If my cousin would ever answer his cell phone, I could tell him about it, and I could probably go.

that's all of it. Jamming it now. A heavy pink floyd influence on this record... no? (i'm especially referring to wings pt. 1&2)
