Pre-E3 2006: SCEA Confirms Time
Annual press conference gets a specific time and place.

April 20, 2006 - PlayStation fans should mark your calendars now, because the event you've been waiting for has finally been given a time. Sony Computer Entertainment has announced when its annual E3 Press Event will start, slated for Monday, May 8th at 4 PM at the Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City.

While very few details have been released about the event, the safest bet will be additional details on the launch of the upcoming PS3, as well as information on Sony's online plans. The PS2 may also figure prominently, and additional shots of titles like God of War II could also be shown at the conference.

PSP owners will also be treated to downloadable content at the event, and this feature could be a precursor to any announcement of how emulated PS1 titles will work on the handheld. MS has already announced a pre-E3 event. it'll be a day after Sony's.
as for Ninty, the never have pre-E3 events. they will have their conference meeting at the first day of E3.

If you think about it, unlike last year, Sony now has a whole evening and night to show us some new stuff. Sony last year have to hurried it up so that people can go to the Microsoft conference. Not this year my friend!

Talk about cutting it close. With a little more than two weeks to go before Sony hosts their pre-E3 press conference, the company has finally nailed down the details for the event.

Check in for Sony’s big todo will start at 2 p.m. on Monday at Sony Picture Studios. The event itself starts at 4 p.m. with a reception following the event.

Just to launch a fresh set of butterflies directly into the lower digestive tracts of game journalists everywhere, the email invite says that the RSVP does not guarantee entrance to Sony’s event. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

Nosing around on the site, well at least reading the whole RSVP, I noticed this interesting little tidbit: Remember to bring your Playstation Portable to the Press Event for acccess to downloadable content.

I wonder if they’ll have presentation video to download or games to check out or just another firmware to cram down our throats to guarantee we’re not pirating software while sitting in the studio listening to their presentation

Kotaku is, to phrase it modernly, teh bias. In my eyes they are as anti-Sony as a "gaming blog" can get. Not that I should care but they have in recent year spread so much misinformation that it's not even funny.

It's different thing you can leave such sites unread but many other sites tend to pick up weird rumours these "big gaming blog" sites spread and eventually such misinfo will reach you anyway and make you wonder why they even want to spin such info.

Not a prob. And, that night you will be able to download the conference in DVD quality. But, it will probably be late that night because it will take a bit to capture, encode and upload.

I've also decided to scrap the bit torrent thing. I'm going to donate 2 of my servers to the cause for direct downloads, but due to their limited transfer ammounts I will only be able to leave each uploaded clip online for a limited time (a couple hours max), then it will be up to all of you to share the joy and seed torrents for everyone who did not get a chance to download it. Don't be greedy! Seed a torrent! (Or any other P2P means of sharing it.)

No live stream as far as I know, but trust that there will be one onine RIGHT after it ends, I'm sure they have a pretty fat internet connection on the E3 show floor, so it shouldn't take long to upload.

Thanks again Frosty...This E3's gonna be crazy. Unfortunantly i gotta be at school until 4:20 on monday but the conference might not be over by the time i get home so hopefully i'll be able to download the clips before they get removed from the server.

I'm excited to see what the sites gonna be like on e3 becase we where gettin E3 numbers when the DVD was annouced and we got a nice amount of new members actually post now. So the servers gonna be tested seriously than.
