The latest windows updates I've seen have given som perculiar errors, anyone else seen these? So far this is what I've seen:

1) Outlook express, can't send mail or open address book. Had to repair Windows XP to fix the problem.

2) MS Word, and possibly excel etc. can't open files from folders other than My Documents. Had to fix some registry keys involving with HP drivers.

3) When you type an address into Internet Explorer, it wont do anything. Kadr told me about this one, the solution is another registry fix.

It's a pain in the butt I can tell you, but I suppose it creates work for people like me.

I've heard about a lot of issues with this last round of security updates for Windows XP.

Can't believe that I missed this thread as I was just off the phone to my Dad about problems that he's been having. Apparently he couldn't right click and create a new folder on the Desktop, so he had to use an alternative (Go inside an exsisting folder, file, create new folder).

When he did want to create a folder on the Desktop the system would just hang and he'd have to restart the computer. The only suggestion that I could make was to roll the system back to an eariler date using System Restore, which did the job.

So I finshed the phone call "Typical Microsoft eh? You think you're doing the right thing by keeping to their latest updates but it's that that can screw up your system."
