Mercenaries is one of my top 5 favorite games. To be honest, GTA bores me, but Merc is pure action without the tedious "story" or "plot".

I also appreciate how Merc takes politically incorrect chances. Building a game based on North Korea and China, considering the current climate, is pretty gutsy. It wasn't particularly sensitive either, it depicts North Korea as a desperately poor state where people are terrified of their government. I love the propaganda over the loud-speakers... its eerie.

But from the images of an oil-refinery and a Stealth bomber over desert mountains, I am guessing the next Merc game will use an opponent that must never be mentioned or depicted in a cartoon... yep, its South Park time.

To be honest, I hope Pandemic does not go there. I know I know... stick our heads in the sand... but I can't see a game where the west goes after Jihadists in a video game being particularly useful :)

Either way, EVERYONE must pick up the original Merc if they appreciate a killer time. Pandemic's games might not be the most beautiful or comples, but they are definately the most fun. And if you are able to win the final mission, I hate you.

have i really got to be sensible. its so boring after bringing up two children to end up smoking a pipe and wearing tartan slippers. i'm really infuriated now and i can feel a sermon coming on but not a chance... relax... wait a moment... and :) lol

I hope in a next gen Mercenaries - a fully dynamic mission structure was in place....to see wider consequences on one's actions would be great. Some flight sims do this eg Falcon 4 ( though it took a genius to work the menu's and switches :) )

Cliffbo - Its decent you play games - id imagine you and your kids have some decent multiplayer games....only game my dad ever played with me was FIFA 94 on the Megadrive (genesis), he couldnt get to grips with more complex games in the 32 bit era :)

They only game my dad likes is MGS, he is probably the only reason I ever played the PS1 one.
