There was speculation ms would buy out nintendo some time soon. Both of these are prepostorous claims to get hits on a website.
Sony is a japanese company, a proud Japanese company (kind of redundant), so even thinking this would happen is ridiculous. They have a lot of clout especially as a whole, and people seem to forget that sooo easily. Everyone just wants sony to fall for some reason. I don't really know why, seeing as how they've just improved the gaming industry since they've been in it.

I mean, it's not even like they've hurt or messed up the industry. Why is everyone waiting for them to lose? They've pretty much taken it out of the niche market and made it a regular thing to do. They made gaming cool. They've had nothing but a positive effect on video games. Microsoft got into it because they saw how Sony got in and expanded the industry so well, and shot right to the top. So you could postulate the theory (big words! lol) that if it weren't for playstation there'd be no xbox. @_@

The reason any company gets into the hardware business is, 'can we make money doing this?' That's the bottom line question. All other motivation is secondary. That's the reason sega dropped out of the hardware race. 'The console business is not profitable'. That's a direct quote from CEO of sega. Sony's not going anywhere, not in ten, or a hundred years.
