Yeah well I am starting to wonder whether or not I should do this and I want to see what you think. Anyway I am thinking of leaving to go to Japan or some place calm and take rest for a year or so. I just need to think and to maybe join some organazation that can help me stop being lazy and start doing things again. I can't do it on my own but I fear what my parents will think and will they support me in this decision. I really am trying to do things on my own and trying to get myself a jump start but I can't. Every time I do I find myself failing at it. I think I should just leave and go some place new and fresh. What do you think I should do? Should I leave?

I'd love to do that myself, especially Japan. I think it's a great idea that could benefit you greatly. Is there any reason why you think your Parents won't support you in this decision? Explain why you feel this way and what you want to achieve from it, perhaps they'll be really understanding.

They will understand but my parents concern is work and the medical benefits I get from it. It is mostly a money issue. I am really thinking of saving my money to do this. I am hoping I can talk to them but I am also not sure if I just want to leave for maybe a year or just for a month. I am not even sure if I truly want too considering I am leaving a lot of things behind but at the same time I can feel less stress. *shrugs* Still thinking deeply about it.

You've probably heard it alot before, but you can't run from your problems. Moving to japan is going to be more stressfull then you think, all the moving, getting a place to live, a job (most of which probably require you to speak japanese).

Not only that but what over there is going to motivate you to stop being lazy or whatever.

If you can come up with answers to those questions and think it will really help you then go for it. I'm sure there are lots of orginizations you could join over here and things you could do. It's just that you got to motivate yourself, and that goes for wherever you live.

The reason I want to move to Japan is to become less lazy. That is why lol... I want to move to a place were I need to work on a new language and I need to do things to better myself. I am actually pretty good at doing it when I am in situations like that... Since I am pretty much in a situation were it does not matter to much if I am lazy then I will always be lazy. I do have the ability to better myself but for some odd reason I can't. It seems my mind is more on work then on school or on anything else.

Sad to say I would rather leave to a distant place then stay here at this moment. But then again I could just be going through emotions (I tend to get this way when I over think things).

If you can, go. It's an opportunity few ever get, esp at your age. The experience you'll gain from it will benefit you forever.

Nothing wrong with taking a break. We all need one from time to time. Japan would be a kick ass place to see one day. I hope I am lucky enough to visit there one day.

Setting and achieving goals can be a lot easier than you think. But if you feel that moving to Japan is the only way it will get done, then maybe that's what you have to do. Ultimately, you will know what you need to do more than what anyone else can tell you what to do.

Feel free to talk about it hear, maybe we can discuss it and help lead you to the right answer.

I would say, Go for it.

For a long time i've yearned to just go to somewhere nice in the states and just relax for a while. Have a small job, earning enough and basically enable me to become more indepentant and get stuff done on my own level rather than people pushing me all the time.

Edit: Oh Yeh. Most important thing. Good Luck!

Living in Japan is awesome... & if it weren't so unrealistic for me, I'd absolutely move back.

And here are some good links for you:

JET Program (http://www.us.emb-japan.go.jp/JETProgram/homepage.html) // Link 2 (http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/jet/)
Nova (http://www.teachinjapan.com/)
Geos (http://www.geoscareer.com/)

Remember, you can't just randomly move to Japan.. they'll deport you when your visa runs out & I think it's only like 30 days or something (even going as a student, if I stayed past my allotted time, they would have gone all crazy on me and gotten rid of me). So make sure you have some kind of job set up ahead of time so you don't have to worry about flying back & forth. Seriously, just look up 'teach english japan' on Google & there's so much freaking information. :) :) Good luck!! Go to Japan!!

If your age is 16-25, then it is required for you to have a fantasy of moving to one of the following places:

1) Japan
2) Australia
3) EUROPE

in hopes that your life will be somewhat less shitty in some other location.

In a few years, I want to take a year off and go to Ireland and get a sheepdog and a synthesizer.

I'm sure there's a job you could work at where you'd be required to speak english like at an airport or something. go for it if you really want to, dont just sit around and say you'll do it eventually, start making plans now!

A break may help but dont for a secound think if you leave and come back that your problems will vanish as it doesnt work like that....

But i don't understand why u want to go this far just to become not lazy....why not play sports?

Its not as easy as playing sports.
The whole life just needs a revamp. a fresh start, a new challenge that needs effort.
Hell i tried by doing jiu jitsu. But that kinda back fired cos i came more lethargic at school. Now i have a job, i do more work in school.
I dont know if this is similar to winterborn. but its kinda how i see the situation for her. Which means im probadly wrong.

If you want to stop being lazy, join the Peace Corp. You definitely will have things to do, and it certainly won't be in America. Oh yeah, and they pay you to do it. Its only about $3k, but then you won't be spending money travelling the world.

Anyways, you're 22. Who cares what your parents think.

Well tell you the truth it is more then just laziness but it is the fact Japan has a lot of what I desire to do in life. Ever since I was young I always wanted to move their and become a citizen of Japan. I am really thinking about it and maybe when school is over I will go. I figured it will be better to handle school first before anything else. I am starting to pick myself up too and becoming less lazy. I guess I was only lazy cause I took time out of school and I just needed to boost myself up. I am hoping to drive soon and this way it is easier for me.

Anyway thanks for the advice. ^^ I feel a lot better.
