Well I’m not surprised if they don’t reveal the price because Sony will have about 6 months after e3 to decide on the price, and I think they will announce it in the last minute before the ps3 launch.

I don't think that should be a general de facto rule (wasn't 360's price announced 4 months before it launched?), but in the case of Playstation consoles, certainly yes.

I personally don't mind waiting, and I"ll probably buy it regardless of price, but PS3's already been subject of some real nasty speculation that could run wild between E3 and TGS when they show all this amazing stuff about the hardware and then "analysts" say it's going to cost a lot of money to acquire that hardware, y'know what I mean?

Didn't Sony wait until the last month before launch of the PsP before Ken K. announced the pricing. I expect game demo's at E3, no pricing news. Well maybe a hint at sub $399 figure

I dont expect a price but I think it would be smart if they said something such as "It wont cost more than 400$", that way atleast most of the INSANE price rumors would stop.

Well, just IMHO if I were in charge of the decision of when to release the price, I would wait as long as possible to release the price, even up to the day before the release date. Heck, even announce the price on the release date. Also, no hints would be given other than the hints that have already been given.

Delaying the price announcement keeps media interest high, with them continually trying to guesstimate the price based on the latest rumours. It also helps to keep MS from price cutting the 360 before the PS3 even comes out, just because of the price of the PS3. Of course MS could always just cut the price of the 360 anyway.
