Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is now out on DVD, we rented it yesterday, and we were finally able to view it today. We really liked it, and I thought it had the Final Fantasy feel that I didn't get from The Spirits Within. Since I never owned a PSX (PS1), I was never able to play FF7, though I more recently purchased a used copy that I have yet to find time to play, but I recognized and appreciated the returning icons and themes and even the classic victory tune that they snuck in as a ring tone.
Personally, I wouldn't mind Square-Enix doing more films like this, either films related to other Final Fantasy games or at least films that effectively capture this Final Fantasy-esque feel.

I picked up my copy of it today at Gamestop, even though I had already seen it a few months ago.
It's everything I wanted in a Final Fantasy movie, and then some (added nostalgia)...just pure bliss.
And the bonus features are good for when I'm bored..

The best buy here sold out of their copies within the first half of the day, and they had a good amount. I picked mine up and can honestly say that i don't have any complaints about it like i've been hearing. I don't hate the voice acting, but i did not start watching it with the intent to be pick the movie apart piece by piece.
It made me miss final fantasy games so much that i took FF7 out of storage and started playing it again on my laptop at work. Still fun after all these years.

I would personally have loved to see a movie based on FF8.
Backstory maybe?
