Doesn't look bad. Doesn't look too hot either. Hitman4 quality graphics IMO but still. A new IP nonetheless :thumbr:
Actually on second thought. The game looks equal to Stranglehold graphics. Which is ... cool!!!
This game was previously titled 'Diabolique: License to sin'. So now it's new official title is 'INFERNAL'. Hmm, the old one did sound cheesy compared to this new one.

Looks alright :-/ The jagged corners on that bald guy's head in the 2nd pic bug me though
A new IP is nice, and hopefully the game can play well like Second Sight or Psi-Ops did.
Infernal: Lucky you! You got a WoW demon and a full game! :-p

This game doesn't excite me one bit. Sounds like your standard third person action shooter. Doesn't look so hot either.

I would LOVE a new Psi-Ops. I had put off playing that game for SO long because I figured..."just another gimmicky game." But I was very wrong. The tele-powers ar so solid and the game was just all around fun....even though I never beat it. I got stuck on that part where you're just outside of the cargo loading garage or whatever and there are a few train carts out there and also sniper posts in two corners of the area.

Good one Jax lol...this reminds of that one ps2 luanch game that turned out to crap. I forget what it was called but it team based and looked bland and like every other action title out there.

X Squad! They took out the 4-player co-op like right before it came out. That sealed its fate for sure.

I think we as consumers have gone really too far in determining what should be called true Next-gen. While doing that we've stopped giving these new developers any break at all. We need to cut them some slack you know. These are not the people we looked upto for gorgeous looking games in the current-gen, remember? So why should we be so hard on these noob devs of next-gen to be so efficient, like artists/devs from well-known companies?
For fck's sake, has anyone noticed that we've all got the MILR germs!!! Not the member, the literal meaning of MILR. We're judging every next-gen game(even from no name developers) to knock our socks off. Jeez, way to go people! This route is going to lead us to killing small developers, that's for sure!!!
UNLESS, we leave the ooh's and aaahhh's for big name devs and just appreciate that no name houses are still clinging on to make a place for themselves in unchartered genres.

There are good dev's and there are great dev's, these guys are good. They made a new IP that will play on a new engine, it has some flash to it but it's no MSG4. We all gotta start somewhere and this is their start, as they mature who knows these guys might make something to remember in the years to come.
Ohhhh shiny floor.... ahhhh!

I think it looks good. Maybe not the technical powerhouse of an established big-name dev house, but the art direction and characters look pretty good, and that's better than some can say, (SOE/Box Guy team, I'm looking at you) so I say let's cut 'em some slack and see if it's good before jumping to early conclusions based on three screens.

Hey I just said I'm disappointed by the graphics, but I'm hopeful for some unique gameplay things. I understand how hard it must be for them trying to establish themselves and I'll cut 'em some slack, but this isn't the kind of game that gets people excited for new hardware.

Devs are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. Consumers are all saying they want new IP's but new IP's don't sell the hardware it's the tried and true games like MSG4/Tekken/Mario/Zelda/Halo/DOA games that really get's the consumers to give that money away.

The up-coming gen's multiplatform titles in general seem to be visually a tier below the exclusive ones. Oh well. T_T

X Squad! They took out the 4-player co-op like right before it came out. That sealed its fate for sure.Thats the one lol. This reminds me of that (by looking at the screens..cookie cutter characters and environments ect). I got the feelin it might have a similar fate unfortunantly.
Okay sorry if i sound a lil harsh but don't want these guys to fail or anything..just using my eyes and opinion.

Don't look at me! I own just about every wortwhile new IP on the PS2, whether it was The Getaway, God of War, War of the Monsters, Beyond Good & Evil, Psychonauts, Ico & SotC, and so on. Obviously MGS (and Hideo Kojima games in general) is my favorite series so I'll always love that more than any new IP to roll along, but it doesn't mean that I don't give 'em a chance :-p. Consumers don't want new IPs -- gamers want new IPs. I think there's a difference betwen the two, as consumers are just that -- people who consume & eat up whatever's new. Gamers are people who do it for more than a hobby and like all of us we love to talk about new things and ideas and new directions games are going in. Also, most of the series' that you mentioned are popular for a reason, and they weren't simply elected to be popular, in most cases they earned it by proving their quality. It's only natural then that they'd get the benefit of the doubt over a newcomer. Just like an employer would consider a relative/friend of a good employee over somebody who might be more educated :-p

IP = Internet Protocal :P
The main character in this game is way too short for his own good. I cant really see him a s main character, more of a supporting character?

Yeah, a new IP is usually the start of a new franchise. Or just a game with no predecessors, although it may not have to be very innovative for that matter.

That's the DC game right? Yea, for some reason, it reminded me of it too but I wasn't sure of the title. I recall that game had a bike too. That game didn't fare well at that time IIRC.

Thank you thank you thank you.
Seriously everyone, you might as well just all change your sigs to 'all multiplatform games suck' and not bother typing anything in your posts, just about everyone here says the same thing about every game that is shown unless it was a sequel to a popular PS2 game. you guys are going WAY too far, it started with Virtua Fighter and now every game looks like butt to you guys, the 720p, improved AA and HDR over ps2 alone is enough to be excited about. Did you see the 4th screen on the website? The HDR looks flipping amazing! And if the game is fun who cares about anything else.

Throughout the entirety of Alone in the Dark they should crack bad jokes on Uwe Boll, at least once every 10 minutes.
Anyways, I'm sticking to my guns that the game could be fun, but games like Infernal aren't the kind of games that really show us the possibility of new hardware -- dumb down the graphics a little and it may as well be on PS2 from the looks of it. I don't think there's anything wrong with people asking if these new games are taking it to the next level, otherwise they could have bought a cheaper PS2 dev kit and made it with probably fewer staff (and therefore less money) on PS2...

Naah, nobody would blame you for thinking like that. Neither did I earlier in this thread specifically targeted any one person, just so to be clear ;)
Anyways, we still need to see it from a developer perspective. Release a title for the current-gen which is extremely saturated with mediocre titles? OR release the game to a new next-gen market where there is still a chance to cash out if luck is with them. Probably one of the reasons why they are releasing on next-gen and not PS2 or Xbox1.
Financial strategies I guess :dollars:
