I bought their latest CD (not so new, though) a few months back and just started listening to it again recently. I like it a lot more than I remember--just everything sounds so right with the album and the band and the lyrics.
The cool part about them is they refuse to have a lead guitar. Bass, synth, drums.
Mmmm...in any case, anyone else like them or know bands like them?

I used to get them confused with DFA records.
Anyway, did you get the album, or the remix album? I've come close to buying the original several times.

I got the original. It's really good.
They had a lawsuit with DFA records and had to add the 1979 to the end of their name.

I would say Kasabian is kind of like them in the relation that they don't have very heavy guitar.

DFA 1979 are a great band, they have quite a unique style and I heard they are great live. The bassist from the band is also in some other side projects such as MSTRKRFT, they do loads of mixes are are quite good. DFA 1979 have some of their songs mixed by MSTRKRFT on their album.
