Soooo Mexico decided to decriminalize:
-Pot - 5 grams
-Cocaine - 0.5 grams
-Opium - 5 grams
-Heroin - 25 milligrams
-LSD
-Mushrooms
-Amphetamines
-Peyote


The catch is that people with over that amount now face some harsher penalities. Not like thats a big deal to the average guy. I certainly wouldn't need more than 5 grams of pot on me.

And yeah, one can expect a sizable jump in the Mexican tourist industry now. A trip to Acapulco is now on the "to do" list.

I think that's the point. Take action to appease the douche bags, but not enough to actually impede people enjoying themselves.

Yeah, but because of the crackdown on bigger carriers, it'll eventaully run out. Unless the Mexican government set their standards pretty low, that is. Which is probably what happened.

Don't go after the guys that download the media, but the ones that are distributing it.

How does that not make sense? Wouldn't it be more sensible to put police hours into getting the drug suppliers and not some bored college students?

No, that part makes sense. But they must know that they're never going to catch everyone selling the stuff, or else they wouldn't have proposed a law like this.

Well of course, the war on drugs is unwinnable. Its basically another way of battling the war and to keep the politicians happy.
