hey guys, hows it going.

Anyways I need some help with ideas for music. Im currently creating a narrative animation at college and I need some music for it. The tutor says I need a clip from a song that has a message about how people are treating the earth badly, or something similar.

The band need to be contemporary and they kinda need to be a rock, punk, indie or something similar.

I know its kinda hard to think of one, so I thought I would ask you guys if you could come up with something?

P.S. The animation is about a snowboarder riding through a mountain and experiencing a couple of incidents, just to help ya out a bit.

Here is a wip shot of the animation:

Thanks for looking.

Sounds like Rage Against The Machine might be a good candidate. I can't think of any songs but they are politcal in nature in their music.

Cool man, thanks. I'll check them out now.

Is there any other bands, maybe newer that I could us? My tutor is kinda picky and wants me to get a strong song to carry the message.

Thanks in advance.

Probot - Silent Spring

EDIT: Here are the lyrics:

They ravaged the land
And polluted the seas
They burned all the forests
Or cut down the trees
They damned up the rivers
And paved all the shores
Built parking lots
And discount stores
Then they started to die
But not fast enough
So they shot at each other
With bullets and stuff
Chalk it all up to human greed
As seen on your TV

So much cruelty and madness
In these days of despair
That's not the way that i am, no
That's not the way that i am

As the earth gets sicker and sicker
A soldier aims and pulls the trigger
Angels cry and demons laugh
Another suicide bomb blood bath

Silent spring - no birds sing
Angels cry - we all die

Mother earth wept
As they tore off her dress
Heart broken, humiliated
In a state of distress
They ripped out her hair
And they scratched at her skin
Drained her of her fluids
Then committed their sin
They gouged out her eyes
And cauterized her womb
They sealed up her mouth
And made her a tomb
Now she lies still
At the mercy of man
I whisper in her ear

"that's not the way that i am"

No that's not the way that i am
No that's not the way that i am
No that's not the way that i am
No that's not the way that i am

lol, thanks guys for posting.

I listened to the Probot song, quite cool, but my tutor says it's to heavy for the animation. I need something not quite as heavy although it was a good suggestion. Thanks.

Anyone else got any ideas.

I would, but I don't know of anything else off-hand, and I don't feel like researching.

There was a one-hit wonder a while ago about how the world's gonna end by nuclear war or something of the sort, it was kind of peppy. It's on the VH1 list of one-hit wonders...

If you really want, I can look for it.

"Hands All Over" by Soundgarden.

Hands all over the eastern border
You know what? I think we’re falling
From composure
Hands all over western culture
Ruffling feathers and turning eagles into vultures

Got my arms around baby brother
Put your hands away
Your gonna kill your mother, kill your mother
And I love her

Hands all over the coastal waters
The crew men thank her
Then lay down their oily blanket
Hands all over the inland forest
In a striking motion trees fall down
Like dying soldiers

Hands all over the peasants daughter
She’s our bride
She’ll never make it out alive
Hands all over words I utter
Change them into what you want to
Like balls of clay
Put your hands away
Your gonna kill your mother
And I love her

The "mother" is Mother Earth, just so you know.
