Well, its hosted on the Xboxyde website but do you really expect a multiplatform title from Atari to look significantly better on either platform? meh...

So this probably is the closest thing PS3 gets too. So here goes the trailer, doesn't say which platform in the end so yea, here it is.

IMO, looks nice. It is fully realtime footage, zero CG. To be honest, I think Atari is trying too hard to distinguish itself from Resident Evil. Something feels off... I don't know what it is I can pinpoint but it is off IMO.

At one instant there was a scene where I felt I was seeing gameplay straight out of Indigo Prophecy.

They do have a SD size video for slow computers man. Don't worry.

As for fast computers. Luckily I invested in a top of the line PC(P43Ghz,1GB333mhz ram,DVDRW) four years ago. Am getting benefits to this day with the only addition of a 6600GT last year.

So yea, I was all set for 720p four years ago. They just didn't have enough juicy content back in those days. ;)

The minimum for 720p is 2.4Ghz and 256mb Ram. Use WMP10, it gives better performance for 720p or high-res H.264 vids.

Thanks for the link!

Looking at it critically, I think it looks rather choppy at parts and some of the animations are just :wtf:

Namely, that girl running from the monster, at 1:16 in the video. Her running is terribly off with her actual speed, and that really bugged me.

Now that I have the critical stuff out of the way, a lot of this trailer has some nice stuff going for it. I've never played an Alone in the Dark game, and Uwe Boll's movie certainly didn't help that, but this one I'll have to give a look -- the action looks pretty good and hopefully it's got some good scares to it. I like the premise so far, and the lighting effects in this game are shaping up nicely IMO. Seems like there's a lot of weird blurred & aliased edges in the graphics but that could just be the video quality or something -- other than that most of it is modeled very nicely and the design of that monster we see intermittently (however you spell it) looks pretty nice.

Thanks again :)

YOu need to re-install your video codecs. Use WMP10 for HD. And yea, Defrag your harddisk!

@ Liquid

Yea, you raised some points I neglected to mention just to cut it some slack ;)

Strange thing is that this video worked like a charm and I ALWAYS used the same setting.

It was a Gears of War video that chopped so i based all my 720P experience on that.

Can someone give me a link to a big motha 720P vid file so i can test that to.

It's probably not the video that was choppy man, Gears of War is always choppy like that

Gears of War is slower than my Blade of Artemis. A most disappointing framerate, indeed.

Looks good to me, though the running mechanics need some work. I was impressed with the use of lighting. Didn't seem washed out/too much bloom at all. We've got some image popping when the camera flies past those trees and the building in the distance is shimmering a bit, but assuming this is still an early build of the game it looks sufficiently next-gen to me.

\whoops wrong thread >.>

ay... Wow this game looks pretty sweet, certain parts were just insane, I cant get over the sharpness, I couldn't see any jaggies at all. That alone is sweet to me. I've never played an Alone in the Dark game, are they good?

Looked pretty good to me. Agree with the run mechanics but that's fixable. What they have so far is quite passable already.

Um......the city looks f-ing AWESOME! Especially the last part where they are panning over the park. I can't wait to get into games with real-life geography for metropolitan areas. Anywho, i was pleasantly surprised.
