- Dead Head Fred is announced. You start out as Fred, a guy trying to help a dame. You wake up tied and headless. You will carry all enemies’ heads in a bag, which can be attached at your disposal.

While Fred has a number of melee attacks available to him that he can string together into combos, the majority of his abilities come from the various heads that he'll collect along the way. There will be 9 different heads available to you, splintered into two separate classes: Depletible and core heads. Depletable heads are ones that you'll inevitably run out of due to continual use. For instance, we were told of a head that spits bones at your enemies, which will finally run out of projectiles as you continually use it. Core heads, on the other hand, can be used as many times as you want to get you through the various environmental puzzles and opponents that attack you in the world. Fred's initial "jarhead" is a good example of this, which helps you decapitate opponents and find new equipment that you can use.

I want to hear furthur news on this. Will the horrible loading times be killed because its reading off the memory stick? I would to be able to play Chrono Trigger PSX version and have those load times vanish. Should be possible? shouldn't?

If this emulator for the PSP is ACTUALLY able to play PSX games ...and isn't another Xbox 360 to xbox emu junk...then my money is going straight into sonys pocket.

or at least able to play Chrono Trigger. Of course the loads times HAVE to go.

DS has proven that not only can it survive but thrive against PSP. But i am looking forward to a lot from PSP. DS has years behind it, PSP has been fairly successful despite its infancy and content will only grow. I expect both to co-exist fairly well.

PSP is still lifting off. Until now, the games catalogue has been quite "Meh" with a number of good titles and the features of the console are just OK for the price. Still, PSP sells millions. What will happen when PSP gets games tailored for it (MGS: Portable Ops, LocoRoco, etc.), when its firmware updates provide a lot of interesting new features (PS1 emulation, GPS, camera support, etc.) and when it gets its price cut while being a more versatile console than ever? It will utterly pwn!

By the way, is there any concrete info on the PS1 emulation? I would like to know whether we'd have to pay for the PS1 games we already own and whether it'll be possible for gamers who use memory sticks smaller than 1 GB to download big PS1 games partially. Even 512 MB may not be enough for some games while keeping some personal and system (game saves, downloaded content, etc.) files on it. I guess they can compress CD tracks and FMV files to save a lot of space, but still... Will there be an option to compress the content in such cases, thus making PSP decompress the content on the fly?

Dead Head Fred looks kinda neat. It's like a spiritual, violent successor to Kid Chameleon.

I'm looking forward to Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.
