So I’m a huge comedy fan and I thought I’d start this thread to share some of my favorite routines with y’all. I doubt I’ll get to it every day, but I’ll try to get to it at least a few times a week. Here’s the first installment:
Listen to Advertising Lullabye by George Carlin : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/13782351
(to listen to it you have to do a quick register w/ Napster, but all they need is an e-mail address, and you don’t have to sign up for anything). Please post your favorites too, but try to focus on a routine or bit, rather than just telling me who your favorite comedian is.
Dave Chappelle - For what its worth
i have the video on my laptop, pretty funny

Just last night, I went to a Ross Noble show.
During the interval I talked to some people from my school whom I hadn't had any contact with for over a year.
They told me about Thom Yorke (from Radiohead) making a solo album, and today I found out that one of the songs will be played over the 'A Scanner Darkly' film credits.
And Ross Noble was great!
It would be near impossible to pick a favorite routine of his, because it's almost completely improvised.
And hillarious.
Another of my favorite comedians is Bill Bailey.
I can't pick a specific routine, but his shows are a great mixture of comedy and music based comedy.
He has amazing comedic and musical talent!
i dont like Ross Noble to be honest, Bill Bailey is funny though...well he is on Nevermind the Buzzcocks

George Carlin - You're All Diseased, Complaints & Grieveances, Life Is Worth Losing, etc.
Dave Chappelle - For What It's Worth, Killin' Them Softly
Bill Maher - Be More Cynical, Victory Begins at Home, I'm Swiss
Chris Rock - Bigger & Blacker, Never Scared

They are my favourites.

Oh! Jason Byrne!
I've seen him on some TV shows.
He's ridiculously hilarious!
Especially when he's with Dave Hughes on The Glasshouse.
And that time they were both penguins!
HAHAHA!!!
At least, I think that was Jason Byrne...
i dont like Ross Noble to be honest, Bill Bailey is funny though...well he is on Nevermind the Buzzcocks
Ross Noble can get a bit much after a while, but for me it was just because my face was tired from laughing so much.
Bill Bailey seems to be on quite a few shows.
Black Books and Spaced are my favorites with him.
And also occassionally on Johnathan Creek.
I remember the first time I saw both Ross Noble and Bill Bailey perform on TV on World Cup Comedy (which was only between Australia and England, funnily enough.)
The two of them were improvising jokes and music about space, and it's one of my favorite moments in comedy of all time.
Oh, but it wasn't actually the first time I saw either of them.
The first time was earlier on in competition, performing individually, but... yeah.
Dave Hughes and Will Anderson were on there as well.
And Carl Barron!

Yeah that was him. That was Amazing.
His Stand-up routine with te cardboard boxes and audience participation are good too.
I also like Dlyan Morran.
Russell Peters, search for it on Limewire.
He's an indian comedian, and he jokes about all different races, especially white canadian people.
Funny stuff.
Bill Bailey, Ricky Gervais.

sorry people but i cant stand ross noble.
give me peter kay or billy connelly any day!
Peter Kay isn't all that funny to be honest, it's almost like he's trying to target a far too specific audience and me being from Belfast, I'm not a part of it. Ross Noble on the other hand, yeah, I seen him on BBC 1 a while back and giggle I did.

I used to find Peter Kay funny, now he just gives me a headache. Ross Noble gives me a headache too but he makes laugh while he does it. Bill Bailey is a joy to watch, as much for his music as his comedy. Rob Brydon I saw once and I found him surprisingly funny, though it took me about ten minutes to realise he was actually a comedian. Rich Hall and Ricky Gervais also stand high on my stand up comedy podium, and until recently I would have said there is no funnier man than Jack Dee. However, not too long ago I saw Omid Djalili on his No Agenda tour, and I believe my sides are still somewhere in the Shepherd's Bush Empire. Yes, Omid Djalili is my favourite stand up comedian.

Wow, this is amazing, so many new names to check out! But, yeah, I'd like more links too. If you want to use Napster (it's free, I don't have a paid Napster subscription, all you gotta do is give them an e-mail address and they don't spam you) don't go to the main page, go here: http://www.napster.com/napsterlinks/
Currently, this gentleman is my favorite male comedian. Here are two of his great routines:

Lee Evans is my favourite comedian, it's his facial expressions taht crack me up everytime. I think the funniest sketch is when he is ordering a burger from a drive-thru and is talking about being too lazy to eat it: "Can you pass this through your bodily system for me.......I can't be bothered"

Lewis Black and Robin Williams have to be my favorites.
Robin Williams: Live on Broadway is the funniest stand-up I've ever seen. I recently watched an older stand-up of his from the 80's and that was also awesome.
Chris Rock, George Carlin and Dave Chapelle also get props. (I can't believe I just used that stupid word.)
Dane Cook is alright, some people absolutely adore him, I don't really understand why.

Gabriel Iglesias, he is on Last Comic Standing right now, and I have seen his stand up on Comedy Central. He is hilarious and makes great sound effects during his acts. If anyone is watching this season of Last Comic Standing on NBC, you will see him and know of him.
Stand Up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-6sZ5mlqMg&search=gabriel%20iglesias
The last 5 minutes really show his best stuff.
BUMP!
looks like Boggy and Bing are the only ones that like pure comedy. Sure I like Dave Chapelle, Dane Cook, Nick Swardson, Carlos Mencia. They're figgin hilarious but they got nothing on Mitch Hedberg.
His act is so dumb its genius literally. Hes a very unique comedian that dosnt have a story to tell. All he does is just give us zingers, and thats what i fucking like, and guess what? Hes actually good at it. *Sigh* its a shame that hes dead, he had much more potential and I looked forward to his future jokes. :(

Yeah, Mitch Hedburg had me in tears, he was so funny. "A dog is forever in the pushup position". Jesus, that killed me! Something so damn simple had me on the floor laughing. Damn shame he passed. Carlos Mencia is funny as hell too along with some current favorites including, Dave Chappelle, Dane Cook, etc. The classics like Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams etc. are also hilarious. They were pioneers in the industry at the time and a lot of their stuff is ridiculously funny.
Speaking of comedians, check these guys out. Pretty goddamn funny.
