I've been talking about getting an XBOX but I might want PS2. The problem is my dad said I can only get 1 other system until I'm a Jr., which is in 3 years, so what should I get, PS2 or an XBOX. I like Dance Dance Revolution, Platform, Shooting, Racing, and RPGs.

Get the PS2 because most of the good XBox games will be on the PC and they will be better on the PC. For example look at Halo it has more weapons, multiplayer levels, and is desighned for online play on PC( yes online play is possible on the X-box.) But don't get me wrong I dont hate the XBox at all. In fact, I would much rather play halo on th Xbox rather than the PC, Im just saying that you could save the money and get MOST of the godd xbox games for PC. I understand that there are some good XB games not coming to PC.- But some of the really good ones will be on PC.

I say hold off untill the price drop to 150$-$100 and accuire both systems.

There is a good chance sony is going to drop the price sooner, than later. There already have been rumors of such a drop before E3 this year.

I am not sure what M$ will do. They are already losing a steady 100$ on the 179.99$ (say what?!?!?) xbox-retail. Lowering it would only hurt the system more, but it would also hurt in the long run that its two competitors were 100-79$ cheaper.

Uh....... so? I have three systems that I have under my TV (used to be 4, but I boxed up my PSX last night and shoved it under my bed): Xbox, GameCube, and Dreamcast.

As for the original post; Xbox:

- Dance Dance Revolution: PS2 has more DDR games, but Xbox has the best one: online play + downloadable content (for a charge, not sure if any are free)

- Platform: Probably the Xbox's weakest area, and the PS2's strongest. But Voodoo Vince is worth checking out, and the system's best platform games come out this year (Psychonauts, The Kore Gang, Memorick, etc.)

- Shooting: This one's a no-brainer with Xbox. Halo, Serious Sam, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Soldier of Fortune II, Red Faction II, Brute Force, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Unreal Championship, Armed & Dangerous, Counter-Strike, Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon: Island Thunder, Rainbow Six 3, Max Payne/2, XIII, etc.

- Racing: Project Gotham Racing/2, RalliSport Challenge, Pro Race Driver, APEX, Mercedes Benz World Racing, Colin McRae Rally 3, Burnout/2: Developer's Cut, Midnight Club II, SegaGT 2002, V-Rally 3, Quantum Redshift, MotoGP/2, Midtown Madness 3, Furious Karting (well, I like it :) )

Racing: PS2-GT3>Any Racing game (though I still prefer F-Zero...)

Dance Dance Revolution: PS2-Sucks on Xbox, only worth it on PS2. Xbox version sucks...take it from somebody who is OK at DDR.

RPGs: PS2-Only RPGs worth playing are on Gamecube or PS2. And my opinion of Fable...it will flop. KoToR is ok, but I still say you have a better bet with PS2.

Platformers: PS2-Jak and Daxter, Rachet and Clank, Sly Cooper vs. Voodoo Vince...hmm.

Shooters: Ok, I guess this is where Xbox wins. Halo...Halo...Halo...TS2...Halo...TS2.

Sudeki is looking like a pimp game. But look at the facts we know. By 1/30/02, FF X had sold 4 million world wide. 4 million! Show me an X-Box game that sold that well in a year, and got the same rave reviews. Final Fantasy games are at the top now. Who knows what a year will bring though.

GT2 isn't like GT3 at all. Most everything was revamped, and this game is a lot more fun than GT2.


And Gunpie. PGR2 Came out not to long ago. GT3 Came out a while ago. Compare PGR to GT3, and whenever GT4 comes out, compare that to PGR2.

This game will annihilate any other RPG out there, including Skies of Arcadia, which is hard for me to say.

Final Fantasy is a bigger name than KOTOR. The name sold it, same with the Japanese, they bust a nut over the next Final Fantasy game.

Just because a game has a bigger name doesn't mean it is a better game. The name is big because of its past games, 1-9.

KOTOR deserves game of the year because it introduced new elements. Some girl annoying you? Kill her, get dark side points, become the Sith Lord, whatever.

There are so many ways you can play the game, you put each and every point for stats and skills in.

What does FF10 have? Sphere grid? Please, thats the same thing Diablo II had 3 years ago but it isn't in the shape of a circle.

here's the one argument goku is trying to prove though:
Name all the must have console exclusives for xbox. By consoles I include PC.
You'll get maybe 3 or 4, hell, phant could only come up with 2(but I think that was only for 2003)
So here's the bottom line, if quality>quantity, than why don't you guys have a gamecube? (or maybe you do, I don't know :D)

xbox, personally. games that come out on ps2/xbox are better on xbox, but ps2 has a lot more tittles. so its a matter of opinion :P

I think Ps2 has way better rpg's, you got Xenosaga part 1 and part 2 is coming out, Star Ocean: Till the end of time coming out, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, FFX and FFX-2, .hack series, Dark Cloud 1 and 2, dragon warrior 8 is coming out, Kingdom Hearts, not to mention suikoden 3 and suikoden 4 is coming out. I could go on but i am starting to get tired of typing.

And comparing gt3 a pgr2 is better and you have to realise that gt3 is a 2-3 year old game, just wait till gt4 comes out that is going to be an awesome game.

SOme people might buy it because it's the "Cool" thing to have, but personally I got mine solely for the RPG's. Sure, Fable is prolly going to kick ass, KOTOR was prolly good, and what ever else might kick as too. But what about the future RPG's? Can you name more than 5 of those? The PS2 is RPG King.

Tony Hawk 2x is the best Tony Hawk game. You can rip music and use it in the game. And it has all the best levels amd some extra.
