Ok, guys so I'm looking at getting an Xbox, but I don't know too much about it. Back in the Playstation and n64 days, there wasn't much too know. So my question is this:
What exactly can an XBOX do? (If you include things it can do WITH mods, please tell me)

I know it can do these things:
Play CD's, DVDS (with remote), play games. I've heard some can play divX. WHAT?!???? ANd another I just read is that it can record tv. WHAT!???

You can play NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, PS1, Genesis, Atari 2600, etc games. Oh, and Xbox games too.

You can watch just about every type of movie with Xbox Media Player. Songs too. Slideshows and stuff as well

you can download trainers (so you can have infinite health/ammo/etc in games) and in Halo for example, people have been editing maps

You can load games to the hard drive (makes loading times much faster) and you wouldn't need all your Xbox games.

you can download peoples game saves and put them on your xbox

You can play DVD's without the remote too on a modded Xbox

you can shut down the xbox with the controller if your too lazy to get up

you can load Linux onto it and use it as a computer

and much more

It's like $80 for chip and installation than to make it at all worthwile to save more stuff on it you have to spend like another $80 for a hard drive.
Better deal than modding a ps2 I guess

turns out I'm against modding. Dun really have any use for it.
But 3 main reasons I'm getting xbox is: Perfect Dark, Conker's and XBizzle Live!

40$ for a mod chip and right now u can get a seagate 80 gig HD for 50$

I'm pretty sure it took them(piraters) 2 years to make an effective mod chip
so...
Thinking about getting mine modded because getting modded is only $120 or so, than you can watch dvd's without remote, and a remote is $50, so for $70 more, you get all the functionality of a modded xbi...xbox. (twas for you jackiechan) :p
