There are reports that Sony is developing the third chapter of their horror game series Siren to debut on PLAYSTATION 3. The game will be shown during the anual Tokyo Game Show convention starting in September 22.

Game details are scarce at the moment, but expect more news on Siren 3 and TGS as the event gets closer.

Those are low resolution screen shots that are basically useless.

Siren was pretty good, but I thought it was too hard at parts and too slow... that last picture really freaks me out though

This is it. It's already starting. Excellent.

What am I talking about?
Sony really needs to show gamers what PS3 can do and what better way to do it then developing a game of their own. Even if the game has nothing but the best graphics available on PS3. Whatever Sony's experience is, they really need to develop games that shines one aspect of PS3 to mainstream consumers.
Jet-Li on PS2 'introduced' Analogue fighting and I don't think it was THAT popular but Jet-Li (loved/respected celebrity) plus the analogue fighthing system (a gimmick perhaps) was a very good attempt and hey, I've enjoyed the game although it gets bloody patheticely difficult near the end.

So back to Siren 3; it def needs to show a great use of Tilting and the connectivity with the PSP in some way would prove helpful. While other developers deliver the goods overall, Sony has to concentrate on positively advertising the "un-proven" new features within their console.

when you look at the stills from Siren 2 on the PS2 it makes you realise that photorealism is going to happen this gen.

Bah, I remember seeing an artwork for Siren3(PS3) somewhere. I'll post it as soon as I find it.

Leave it to yoshaw! We're counting on ya bud!! :-p

Siren has some pretty sweet graphics -- I hope to God they ditch the british voices for the American version though! Seeing a Japanese dude with a British voice was so terrible... I'd also like to see more continuous play as one character than a bunch of "missions" Lot of possibilities with this game's story, I hope they improve on the original a lot.

:) Well, that made me go into overdrive mode and search for this. Apparently it's an early artwork from Siren3. Whether legit or not, I guess we'll know later at TGS.

Google Translation:
And yes, obviously that is not an enormous surprise since the studio at the origin of the two first opus of the Siren Frankness belongs to Sony. Nevertheless it is official and it is Gameone which reveals it in a report with louper under any pretext. In addition to a very beautiful realization, the report takes us along in the slides of a really sympathetic studio! Thus, one discovers there the back of the decorations and all the work provided upstream of these productions. In all the cases even if Toyama does not say it in the report, it underlines nevertheless that it works sleep and already on a new project on PS3. With of not doubting a new episode of this very good frankness A report which I can only advise you to look at!

hmm... looks pretty good. Thanks :) +rep.

If every enemy can look that good and be totally unique from each one, it'll be real cool. This game has the same director/producer as the first Silent Hill, right?

Ah, same director: Keiichiro Toyama :)

one of the creapiest things in Siren is when you can see yourself through the eyes of one of the freaks!

Whatever Sony's experience is, they really need to develop games that shines one aspect of PS3 to mainstream consumers.
oh, don't worry about Sony. they're games keep getting better and better at a suprising rate. dare I suggest how some of their games will end up like? just think all of their beauties on PS3; think SOCOM, GT, God of War 3, R&C, Twisted Metal, Wipeout, etc.
how about what these kick ass devs can do; Team Ico, Naughty Dog, Team Soho, London Studios, and others.
even there early showings look promising. :)
