Resident Evil 4.

Haven't played it in about 2 years, but the news that it's coming to the Wii made me really want to give it another go.

Got to the part when you rescue Ashley for the first time.

Chrono Trigger --> Mac; got the emulator version (and I own the SNES cart so I dunno if that makes it legal or not ??) which rocks when sitting through international politics at school.
I just got the SNES cart the other day (FINALLY!)....GameStop finally reinstated the company wide inventory lookup that EB used to have. There were only three stores in the entire company with Chrono Trigger. I called all three, and the last guy actually mailed the game to my store.

Got it for $1.63 after all discounts and promotions. Sweet deal.

Well for the first time in about 2 or 3 years I bought a PC game. Think I remember why I stopped buying PC games. It's been installing for about the last hour I think. No fun. No fun. No fun.

But I will play Command and Conquer 3!

No doubt after it installs it'll want to spend another 30 minutes installing a patch.

Playing Supa Rub a Dub while waiting for it to install, so that'll probably be all day. :) Wife thought it was really cute until the shark starting ripping ducks to pieces.

Finally got it running, it's quite like a 3D Starcraft when you first play it...

wow less than 2 bucks? Nice one. At used stores around here, I found one for $90!!! I got mine about 6 years ago. I traded it to this dude in my physics class for Super Mario World since I had two copies....damn that was an awesome deal for me...

I've been alternating between games. I've been doing a little Guitar Hero II and a bit more Gears of War. I figure I got 4 more achievements to get in Gears. I can at least try getting 3 of them. (I'm not going to bother with 10,000 MP kills).
I've also been doing a little Hexic HD. A co-worker and I are in a small competition of sorts when it comes to achievements in that game. He has a higher overall score, but I got more achievements. Woo. The achievements for that game are seriously difficult. Complete 100 games? I haven't even beaten 1.
I think since I got the time today, I'm going to bust out with some Oblivion. I might as well finish off the Fighter's Guild stuff while I can.

Almost cleared New SMB. Just need to get some metals that I missed out in the earlier worlds.

Decided to play Shenmue again. Honestly this game never fails to amaze me, it was well beyond its time - it was actually intended to be on the Saturn. In terms of role-playing - Shenmue runs around the FF series. This game is just that good.

Real-time mechanics, high level of immersion, and an organic environment, it has it all. Set in Yokohama, Japan - 1986. The minute you enter the city, it gives you the feeling that they got the 'art' behind the urban landscape right. Sure the next-gen consoles sport superior visuals et al but this game got that urban 'feeling' right. No, it just doesn't have NPCs walking in preset directions. In addition you have a diverse population, cyclists on the road, people trying to sell products such as flowers, kids running about, gangs chilling on the side walk, mechanics repairing bikes; and in night - bars, clubs open while bikers, sailors enter, so do intoxicated business man. Drunkards too! I am telling you this game is big. :)

This game sets a standard in the RPG genre that many have yet to reach. In fact I've tried out Blue Dragon and quickly noticed that this is just a title that has appeared a multitude of times on the 32-bit platform. Yes by various developers of various quality but this title doesn't add to anything that those in the past introduced. This well executed title is has yet to be out-done, lets see Square-Enix, Mistwalker, and other RPG developers approach and exceed this standard. They should, seeing the computational power they have available to them.

I highly recommend Shenmue to all. Pick up a DC, buy the software. The price is not prohibitive. If its an obstacle, go find an iso which is fine since Sega no longer manufacturers this title. Just play the title, it cannot be ignored!

Bunch of poo turned up at my house, probably the last until September/October. Got lots of games to play, don't need any more. In October I'll get a bit box full of Blue Dragon, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Halo 3, GTAIV, many wonderous things.

Here's some quick impressions.

Oblivion PS3
They've taken about half the stuff I hated about Oblivion and fixed it! No more stuttering loading while you walk around, sharp, crisp graphics, higher frame rate,no foiliage popping up right in front of you. Loverly. I think I'll have a crack at finishing this.

Sega Genesis Collection - PS2
It's 28 Genesis games for only $19.99 (hurrah!)
In prog scan (hurrah)
Very good selection, the Phantasy Star games alone are worth the cash.

A lot of these games are on Wii VC, including stinkers like Gain Ground, imagine some poor sod payin $8 for that...

Untold Legends: DK - PS3
Not too bad actually, it's not the game Marvel UA was but better optimised for PS3. Your standard Balders Gate DA romp, only with a different camera. Good launch effort.

Enchanted Arms - PS3
It's a 7/10 PS2 RPG only in high res. Japanese student types with spikey hair and myserious powers a plenty. Ahh hell I'll play it, White Knight, FF13 and Blue Dragon can't get here soon enough though...

It's the Advance Wars/ Fire Emblem kinda jRPG. Haven't played too may of them so I'm looking forward to it.

The usual Ubisoft jRPG production values. Slighty stilted voice overs, that kinda thing, but it's the first real next gen jRPG in english, so you know...

Playing Grandia III atm and wouldn't want to quit it to play this.

Armored Core - PS3
Haven't gotten round to this one yet. Seems rather involved.

God of War 2 has some bullshit no matter what difficulty you play it on... Oh look, a medusa froze you in midair while you were in the middle of a combo, INSTANTLY FUCKING DEAD. Go back 10 minutes of gameplay, do not pass go, do not collect $599 USD. Game design ftw!

Basically I'm at the end where you have to fight waves of every type of enemy in the game, I stopped after my 10th death, I'll let one of my friends beat it when I'm "showing" them how "cool" the game is.

Picked up Crackdown very cheap, difficult to take any game seriously that has a bad buy called "Wang".

"I'm hunting Wang"
"I see Wang, going to shoot him in the head"
"Finally beaten the game and licked Wang".

Make up your own jokes. The game is OK, on my "must get into sometime" pile. Quite looking forward to the Halo 3 beta though.

After getting a few stunt rings, he had to go. In the meantime, I managed to get a few more stunt rings on my own (only need 6 more) and the rest of the hidden orbs.

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars

I still hate how "subtly" Tiberium = oil but whatever.

The game is a basic game that is still fun to play, basically whoever builds the fastest wins (reminds me of console wars lol) but sometimes there are some tactics like where to put your defensive weapons and weather to attack with planes or tanks

Seriously gets boring after a while this one especially after I've played Company Of Heroes.

Company Of Heroes is the best strategy game you'll ever play.

I can't elaborate why for some reasons (don't want to spoil some nice "oh...cool!" gameplay elements) but if you like strategy game there is no way in hell Company Of Heroes will disappoint.

It does feel new and not only that, it feels 100x better than any other strategy game (and I've played a lot of them).

The only annoying thing about it is that the World War setting gets extremely tiring.

^ The plus side is the game really emulates a full-blown war compaign. Yes, the war mongering side of me wants to see high realism. I want to take my artillery units and demolish infrastructure, while LMGs to take down soldiers, and tanks run over everything. Heck the Volksgrenadier concept is even down right. Extreme close-range combat.

This game (CoH) is so good. Now all I need an RTS where I have to send troops into an 'organic' city, town or village. Damn I feel terrible but that ain't much cleaner than this title. ;)

A game I can't wait to see how it pans out is World in Conflict, how sick does that game look! Holy crap!

Someone has GOT to make a Red Alert 1 mod for that game btw.... that would be buttsecks.

We got a US PS3, we can play PS1 games full price and full screen, cheaper than PAL PS1 games. Lets buy lots!!!

Man you can really attack those PS1 games with a brillo pad and they still work.

Crash 2 - PS1
Excellent fun, banging through it really quick, should be done in a couple of days. 4.99USD

Re-Loaded - PS1
Errm... not really any good anymore. There's games like this on XBLA and Dreamcast that are much better.
$4.99USD

Grand Theft Auto 2 - PS1
May play this to the end. It's like GTA without the money.
1.99USD

Wild 9 - PS1
Take an awesome 2D SNES side on platformer then crap out the graphics with nasty early 3D. It would work so much better in 2D with hand drawn graphics. Eugh...
I think a small sigh came out my PS3 when I popped the disk in.
But, better than 9 out 10 downloadable games.
By Shiny. Who used to be really good.
$1.49USD

Battle Arena Toshinden - PS1
Sucks
4.99USD - I was robbed

Tomb Raider III - PS1
Possibly the start of the decline of Ms Croft, but good all the same
1.99USD

Tomb Raider - Last Revelation
The last revelation is a church or something falls on her.
$1.99USD

Wipeout - PS1
Fab
$4.99

Also picked up Munch's Odyssey on XBox again now it's 360 compatible. Half the fricking sound is missing making it pretty unplayable. 360 is really pissing me off right now. The drive door keeps sticking, bulld quality on these things sucks.

I'm upset with Oblivion. Actually, I'm upset with what my girlfriend did while playing Oblivion. She likes the game, but she wasn't paying attention to where she was saving. I was busy playing Diamond, then I noticed she was saving over one of my characters. I put about 17 hours into that guy...but it was my first character and he wasn't that great. She saved over another one of my character earlier, apparently, which I was still using for the Dark Brotherhood quests (21 hours put into him).
It isn't like it doesn't say what the contents of each save file are. Gah, why doesn't she pay attention to things?
I'm probably just going to delete her character saves and make her a XBL Silver account. That way she can start over and not be anywhere near my save files ever again. She almost cried because she felt bad.

Watching all the F.E.A.R. PS3/360 comparison videos and reviews got a craving for F.E.A.R. on a console so went out and bought a 2nd hand copy of....

F.E.A.R.... For 360 naturally, I may love my PS3 but I ain't stupid. :)

First up it becomes apparent how Sierra have cocked up the PS3 version big time. The game seems to have a quarter of the detail of Resistance, faces are very low detail and the lighting isn't *that* clever. Often the shadows are comically bad in a game all about darkness and shadows.

About a quarter through the game and it is starting to age a bit. There's all this groovy physics but it's all just decoration unlike Half Life 2. You can knock about stuff but there's no physics puzzles. The physics are also a bit buggy, you can drive a bottle insane bouncing off the wall in water for no reason, stuff like that.

The AI is rather excellent though, but once you do kill the enemies they often end up hanging half way through a wall with one hand poking out, or on one leg. Or slowly spinning round as the physics is slightly buggered.

And it gets so repetitive too.

Ummm.... I think F.E.A.R. is ever so slightly crap to be honest, I prefer their other game Comdemned much more. A Gears or a Graw or a COD really blows this away. I think the only 360 shooter I liked less was Prey. Really hated that.

But... I'll finish it. It's Max Payne in first person with AI and bugs basically.

This new DLC is pretty sweet. The new characters are nice---well, most of them. The Hulk pretty much made everything worth it, though. The dude is insanely powerful in this game, as well as Dr. Doom.

A ton of new XBLA games

Alien Hominid HD - Contra in HD, nice and fast. Probably better off playing Contra on a SNES though, much better. And finishing Contra on SNES would be so much more satisfying, rather than "Look at me I finished a flash game a bunch of students made in their bedroom".

Nice though. Kinda a militia thing going on with slaughtering FBI agents by the thousand, hope Agent Scully is OK....

Catan - All these card and board games on consoles are beyond me... I'm waiting for a perfect simulation online of playing dominoes down the local British Legion with a bunch of old soldiers.

Centipede - Enhanced version crap.

Heavy Weapon - Total Crap

Pinball FX - Play Metroid Pinball on DS instead. Seriously.

Guess you can't have Castlevania SOTN every week.

Noticed I've finished 10 PS games in a row so I've decided to fire up the 360 for a while. Started by playing Conker Reloaded to the end. So used to the PS3 every time the controller rumbles I go "What the **** was that?". Wonder if it's a New Zealand earthquake...

I like Conker, and Rare's single player games in general. Very underated game Kameo you know.

Finish off 3 or 4 360 games then go right back to my nice comfortable PS3 rutt. Ahhhh.... :)

Picked to PGR3 again for very little money (About $10) and damn does it look like hell these days, suprised by how bad it looks now. Probably shouldn't play it after Gears.

And GTA3:San Andreas. I played it on XBox and got stuck at the Train Mission years ago, on the PS2 version breezed right through it first time. Either the PS2 mission is easier, the sixaxis control is better for me, or... It's an outside chance, my game playing has gotten better!

For my 360 I'm currently playing Gears of War and GRAW2. I'm switching between Super Paper Mario and Twilight Princess on Wii and a friend of mine just bought Killzone: Liberation for the PSP, so me and him are doing the coop campaign together seeing as I've completed the single player campaign already. The game is good fun with a friend to play with and much easier to run through the game on coop rather than playing it by myself. =)

It's Xtreme Diarrhea 2: the Disney years. Really sh*t*. But I like to play bad games because nitpicking is great fun, I could send Eurocom a neatly typed 6 page letter on why their game sucks and is no fun. At all.
A rental, didn't buy it.

Croc - PS1(On PS3)
Better than Pirates, that's for sure.

Finished... 7 PS1/GBA games in a row, trying to play some more recent games.

Got F.E.A.R. for PS3 very cheap, playing that, then finally finish God of War 2, I keep deleting my save game so I can replay it. :) Then I'm going to switch to 360 for a while, play though some Ubisoft shooters.

F.E.A.R. at the moment reminds me of Killzone on PS2, they seem to have the same frame rate and loading times. :)

Think I can find enough next gen content to keep my find em, finish em, flog em, forget em style of gaming going until March next year. Should limp into the August/September fun fest quite nicely.

Looks like I'll have hardly switched on the Wii all year... Hmmm... :(

What's been taking up most of my gaming time, though? Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II. I've been playing the game on and off for 4 years. It's a really fun game, despite how simplistic and repetitive it gets. One of the best multiplayer games around.

Finished F.E.A.R. Unkind to portly hackers, clearly.

Finishing up God of War 2. Spoken about this in the PS2 forum, if God of War 2 turns out to be my game of the year I'm going to be hacked off, really. It'll be three christmasses next gen has been out and PS2 games are still number 1. That's annoying.

But looking at the likely delays to big hitters on PS3 and 360 I think it may well end up my game of the year.

But no way a PS2 game will end up my game of 2008, surely??!!???

Next up, finally get round to finishing Graw on 360.

Played Legend of Legaia today.

I have to get some fertilizer, so I can put it on a plant, so it will grow and become a bridge, across a low shallow river. Because clearly, I can't just jump over the river (even though my character clearly displayed his amazing capacity to jump in a mountainous area) and fertilizer instantly makes plants grow, and if they are beside rivers, they will obviously become bridges to allow me to pass unheeded.

What a wicked, classic game :)

Recipe for gaming heaven. Pretend I'm Nigella Lawson.

Take these ingredients
1x Playstation 3
1x PS2 to PS3 USB converter
1x Sony Bravia HD TV
1x HDMI cable
1x Dual Shock 2
1x Copy of Shadow of the Colossus
1x FW 1.81

Mix them up together and enjoy. Because if you're 100 foot high damn straight you should rumble.

Playing a bit of GRAW, never got round to finishing it when it came out. Good game if you're too tired, just get your troop to do everything. "You guys go shoot those terrorists, I can't be arsed. One of my guys got shot? You med him up, I didn't get much sleep last night man, we done the level yet." :) Next gen started with GRAW I think.

Couple of nice demos, DIRT on 360 which does everything you could want in a Rally game, ShadowRun which is a great new take on an online shooter. Neither are genres I'm into but very fine, clearly. 360 is the boss for online shooters.

Got a pile of cheap 360 games, been playing a bit of Viva Pinata. It's like Pokemon, in so much as you're trying to catch em all, keep em all, but you don't have to train them, or battle them. And there's sex. Rather good really, really terrific kids game.

Ahh what else, got Need for Speed Carbon PS3 cheap. Good if you like your racing game served with a huge hunk of cheese. So so cheesy, ripe for taking the mickey out of. Tries really hard to be good, succeeds in some ways. The best NFS yet, give it that much.

And a bunch of 3 dollar PS1 games, Spryo 3, Nuclear/Soviet Strike, Croc 2.

I've been playing some PSU. Online and offline. I've been wanting to play an RPG (I get like that over the summer) and it isn't exactly helping out much. Too action-oriented. I'll probably bust out with a Final Fantasy game tomorrow. If I had Chrono Cross, I'd definitely be playing that.
I tried playing Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst earlier. I don't really like how it transitioned on to the PC. The controls are clunky, everything runs pretty slowly (probably because of my computer), and I don't like the minor changes that were made.

I might try playing Shadowrun again. I bought it a week ago and played it once. Eek.

Not much doing really, got a box full of hot *** coming on monday with Tomb Raider Ani, Kingdom Hearts, Mega Man Collection, Odin Sphere, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Grim Grimore and the Darkness. Whoohooo! 2 2D games.

Try and finish Resident Evil 4, bit bored with shooting people in the leg to be honest, it's slightly over rated. But only slightly.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma - PS3
Such an old fart I can only play for an hour a day before I go "Bloody hell me hand hurts", but slicing dudes heads off never gets old. Really nice looking game all throughout but you can tell the PS3 is hardly ticking over.

Just great, every enemy is a real battle, every boss and location new. Fun as hell to play.

I'll get it finished one day. :) About a quarter of the way through.

Resident Evil 4 - PS2
On PS3 with upscaling/filtering/widescreen does look better than the Gamecube version. No kidding, I have both versions. I don't think it's really the best game made last gen as some people think, but probably in the top ten if not ten 5.

Let down by the classic Resident Evil "rotate on the spot" control scheme, which is still there despite the new camera angle. But awesome, definitely.

Nearly finished.

Daxter - PSP
I've never finished a PSP game ever so I'm giving this a go. For a handheld it's just awesome, but I do wish it was just a PS2 game.

And finally

Sonic the Hedgehog - XBLA
No, not the crappy 3D one, 2D goodness. Only 400 points, at least 3 days fun. I hope they do more of these Genesis games as old Sonic looks great in 720p/filtering.

The Getaway Black Monday
Big but fun failure. Attempt to make a f*ck*ng cockey gangster movie into a f*ck*ng game where they say f*ck every 5 f*k*ng seconds init?

It's bad in a good way, the game starts and you're a london copper raiding a tower block full of druggies init? The game says "They may be taking hostages", and the bad guys take a hostage so you can't shoot em, so you just shoot the hostages and the game doesn't mind. :)

In some boxing club shooting anything that moves, no idea what I'm doing. Just like a real british armed copper!

Might play it through for yucks. Actually made me go "wow" when it started up, amazing facial graphics for an old game. I got 360 games with worse face modeling.

Kinda like Hot Fuzz the video game so far. :) They say "Police stop" after you shoot a suspect. I'm shooting unarmed suspects by the dozen. :)

On man, this game is cracking me up, but imagine how good this game would be if they hadn't buggered it up.

-Phantasy Star Universe Demo.
Although the rest of the E-mpire members who played kind of abandoned me, I still play the demo with some other friends. My girlfriend likes playing the game online with me too, despite how she hates all the cool items I got.

-Geometry Wars Evolved
I'm trying to get 2 achievements, and I was pretty close to getting both of them. But, I failed. And it was rather upsetting. I tried getting to 250,000 points without dying, and I died with only 9,000 points to go (GAH!). I almost broke 500,000...alas, I ran out of lives around 440,000.
I'm going to get those achievements. (I'm terribly envious of Bsack's skills at that game).

-Guitar Hero II
After managing to beat Expert mode (barely) and Jordan (again, barely), I'm just trying to run through the game and get 5 stars on every song on Hard. That shit is hard. It might help if I print out the cut off point for getting 5 stars on every so. I can't play too often, though. My wrist starts killing me.

I know you're all out there playing games, so post.

I tried the Conan demo for the 360 yesterday. It was pretty lame, you mostly just killed some regular enemies and pulled a few levers. The different attacks you can do while your enemy is blocking are kind of cool.

I'll rent it when it comes out.

Oh yeah, well you should bump it more often.....Which just reminded me of my "game of the month" thread which I'll bump later maybe.

Currently playing: Killzone

The enemy and friendly AI is really really really REALLY annoying but other than that it's a very enjoyable game.

But just a few hours ago I turned the game off because the friendly AI pissed me off.
They are just standing miles away from the fight keep saying stupid shit like "stay out of sight" every 2 seconds and every time I get a headshot I have to hear some dumbass going "ohhhhh, not in the face!" and I'm like "how the fuck do you even know, you are no-where near!"

And when they DO join the battle, they are always in the fucking way.
I aim for an enemy (who is looking anywhere but in my direction) and just as I'm about to kill him the friendly AI gets in the way "watch your fire!"

Then I walk away, find myself a new cover and then comes the stupid line "stay out of sight" and I'm like "how?! we are in a fucking corridor!" and then the enemy sees me suddenly (when they were looking away from me) and then I start shooting them but they don't die for ages, then I keep hearing her going "stay out of sight" while I'm trying to kill 15 enemies.
Then I look back and see my friendly AI just spinning in one place instead of helping me kill these 15 enemies.
I go over to them and go back to where the enemy is but they don't follow...

and so on......Really frustrating AI.

Mass Effect

I tried to make my character look like Mal from Firefly, but that didn't work out so well so I just used the default. I think I played it around 5 hours straight, which I haven't done for any game in a while. I like the dialogue system a lot better than the ones in KOTOR and Jade Empire. It moves quicker and you don't always know what your character is going to say. The load times in some areas are annoying and the game just drops you in there and makes you learn shit on your own, but I'd rather do that then play through a bunch of tutorials.

Depends on what guitar you get. I imagine the X-plorer model (GHII) will be cheaper than the Les Paul (GHIII) considering the X-plorer one isn't wireless.I'd guess somewhere between $30-$40. Maybe. It would ultimately be cheaper to just get GHIII with the guitar, I believe.
Also, because of this, I managed to hop back on Guitar Hero II. I managed to get 400k on a song and get a 1000 note streak (FINALLY!). Right now, I'm trying to work on 5-starring all songs on Hard. Only about 10 or so to go, I believe.

I'll probably hop on Gears to get the Annex achievement.

Heavenly Sword

Best game on the PS3 I've played and yes I've played Uncharted.
Uncharted to me was Gears Of War with better story/ characters and settings.

Heavenly Sword is unique.
Has great combat and combo system, very well presented story (which is written better than Uncharted I think, better characters and more 'adult' dialogue that match the mood and make it amusing), much better game design and bosses and also as a plus it makes great use of the Sixaxis.

when I saw video reviews of this game and heard you controlled cannons/ arrows with Sixaxis I thought "oh here we go, they tacked it on in another game" Well luckily I was wrong and it's not tacked on, it works perfectly.
The only flaw is the sections are a bit too long and my wrists get tired. :p

So this game is amazing so far and is by far my favourite PS3 game.

9/10.
I'll end by saying: Almost God Of War like epicness.

The checkpoints are a bitch, the stupid sword eating your health is a bitch so you gotta be quick, the PLATFORMING IS INSANE and when you fall i wanna kill the developers, especially the water level. I dunno if you there yet but MAN.

But its still an awesome game no doubt, i love it. Id love it more if it hasnt been 5 years since i got it and still have not been able to beat it. EVEN WITH ACTION REPLAY MAX! The problem isnt dying, not fighting, its the stupid platforming!

Warhawk

Finished Heavenly Sword and Uncharted and they don't really how much replay value unfortunately so I got stuck into Warhawk.

This for me has to be one of the best multiplayer games to grace online gaming in any format.
I still can't believe it was a £20 PSN game, I would pay full price for this, the value you get out of it is ridiculously good.

Tank/ on foot/ jeep/ Warhawk/ sentry weapons...All the places you battle in, they made it perfect and amazingly balanced in every way.
You can't catch a cheating break.

Even in a masterful online game like CS: S, there are one or two places in a map where you can be with a specific weapon to take great advantage, but not in Warhawk.
It's a "give all and take all" kind of battle game and it's absolutely thrilling.

I thought that putting mines on top of a warhawk spawn point so that everytime someone takes off, they blow up was one of those tactics until I discovered you can just shoot and blow up the mines lol and other than that, nothing caught my attention in a negative way.

The community has been very kind so far as well.

I really should give it a 10.......hm...yeah I guess I should, it really doesn't have any flaws, even each map is crafter to perfection.

The only flaw obviously is if you don't enjoy these kind of games but Warhawk has so many aspects and so many different ways to approach a battle I would suggest picking it up for it's cheap price.

10/10!! (my first!)

Hahaha, I remember playing Shinobi for the PS2. I thought it was going to be another simple game about a ninja kicking some ass. Instead, I was met with an absurd amount of frustration. I mean, holy shit---the game is vicious as hell. As for it being more challenging than Ninja Gaiden....well, I had trouble with both games. They're both challengining for different reasons. Shinobi has that lovely "let's take away your health" system, which really blows if you're stuck on a platoforming part. It also has some pretty mean boss fights (but the Giant Tiger Spider was awesome). Ninja Gaiden seemed more unforgiving to me. The boss fights were also hard, but I always had to keep track of my items. I think I restarted the game three times because I kept running out of items at the wrong time. When I'm halfway through the game and when had to restart because I had 50% health, no healing items, and had to fight two worms with no long-range weapons....yeah, it sucked.

Anyway, here's what I've been playing lately:

Call of Duty 4. I'm trying to get through various levels on Veteran, and it's pissing me off. I'm hating how the game seems almost too damn scripted. I can't exactly pick off enemies from a distance since they'll keep respawning. If I get closer, a bunch will appear from no where and rape me. It's upsetting. The multiplayer is still pretty cool, though. I'm at level 34.

Rock Band. This game is a bitch to play online considering XBL has been acting stupid. In the meantime, I've been trying to go through the solo careers. I managed to beat vocals on Medium (barely, mind you) and I'm almost done with guitar on Expert. Of course, like in the Guitar Hero games, when playing on Expert I can get through most of the songs except for the very last one. Then I'm stuck for a long time. So, I'm absolutely hating "Green Grass & High Tides." I got 80% through the song before the constant hammer-ons and pull-offs got me. Stupid fucking repetitive guitar parts...

Mass Effect: I haven't played on my own file in a long time. I've mostly been helping and playing through for my girlfriend. She's liking the game a lot, but she doesn't like doing various things (like driving, or attacking freakishly large enemies).

I just got Rock Band for the 360 so I guess I'll be playing that for awhile.

Nightshade. The sequal to Shinobi. Slightly less impossible than it's predicessor, but still vicious.

excuse my ignorance, but is Shinobi tougher than Ninja Gaiden?

It isnt exactly TOUGHER. The difficulty goes to Ninja Gaiden. Its not that Shinobi is tough, its just insanely impossible to get the platforming down and your health goes down constantly and its just fuckin annoying to the point of frustration.

When I'm halfway through the game and when had to restart because I had 50% health, no healing items, and had to fight two worms with no long-range weapons....yeah, it sucked.

haha yea, spider boss was awesome, all the boss battles were awesome...at tleast the ones could finish >_>

Nightshade. The sequal to Shinobi. Slightly less impossible than it's predicessor, but still vicious.

I always wanted to pick that up....

If you liked Shinobi, it is absolutly worth it. That and the fact that you can find it for $10 on ebay (shipping included) you might as well.

I've worked my way to Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It's essentially X-men Legends with a different coat of paint, but that's basically what I expected.

^Yeah, M:UA is just another X-Men Legends game, but for some reason, I liked M:UA so much more.

As for what I've been playing:

Call of Duty 4. Still going through the game on Veteran, but this time with moderate success! I was trying to do some free-for-all multiplayer last night, but my internet connection kept crapping out of me. It's only bad because I was winning.

Rock Band. I finally beat Green Grass & High Tides on Expert guitar! WOO! I also picked up the drums for a bit...and realized singing on Expert is harder than expected :(

UNO. This game is fucking awesome with 4 people. It's intense.

DOOM. 4 player co-op is cool, but the lag wasn't.

Gears of War. Played this for a few hours last night. Kept me up until farkin' 6:30 this morning. I've also learned that I pretty much suck with all power weapons now. Minus the Hammer of Dawn.

Mass Effect. Playing through on my file on the Insanity difficulty. I'm trying to get the remaining achievements, but the game is proving to be too evil (I don't like my party). I'll probably just restart on Insanity with a better party (and me being a Vanguard again) and save the other achievements for a different file (on Casual).
