I agree MGS was by far the best of the show, no question about it, but Gears of War, I thought, looked damned impressive, as well, so I don't have that many complaints with the top of the list.

MGS5...........? I was under the impression that there were only 3 MGS releases.
Top five is questionable, but MGS4 and Mario Galaxies defiantely deserve a spot up there.

As for mgs 4 , it most likely didn't get as high because it wasn't playable and it will most likely be at the next e3 and wont release till the end of 2007. IF you look at the list almost everything but mgs4 should be out by next may unless there are some big delays

personally, I don't go with so many 'pics of show' choices. look at IGN, 1UP and other major sites' awards. best sweat in a game award? oh, please. they have an award for every game made. it would have been more interesting to pic best of 5 in the show.

PS. I still don't get what's the big fuss about spore. O_o

Really ? It was at the back of the booth and it went up into a little platform thing (mabye like 5 feet above the show floor) and it had banks of hdtvs / xbox 360s lined up and you would play 16 player team death match , 8 on each side . Lots of fun .


The game is going to sell like gang busters. The chainsaw just makes it insane . Nothing like sniping a player and all of the sudden hearing a chainsaw buzz to life behind you and knowing your a dead boy .

Which btw , sniping is actually worth while now , there are some good cover spots in the maps we played and using a 2 player mini squad set up , snipers had very good cover. Have one guy cover the rear of the sniper nest and the other snipe . Worked really well . SO I was pleased with that .

Aside from that there was some framerate problems , but the title isn't coming out till october and the game itself looked beautifull and the control was top notch. So i can't really see this game getting bad reviews. The single player might not be inspired (dunno never played that ) but the multiplayer is going to turn this game into the next halo with tons of people still playing it online till this day

Personaly , I think they should do top 5 of the show (all playable no trailer bs and yea I'm talking about halo 3. Btw playable to the press , closed doors is fine) and then top 5 for each console .
That way counting hand helds and next gen hardware they'd have 30 games to talk about plus 5 more as games of the show.

There are alot of PS3 and 360 games, but not alot for Wii...weird.
There are precisely 21 360 games, 20 PS3 games, and 6 Wii games.
They are obviously a biased magazine. The magazine also just states their own opinion nothing more. Did you see what rating they gave at E3!? Xbox=A, Wii=a- and PS3=C-, just because of their negativity toward price point.

any way, this is only one take from one publication. I would imagine they want to create contraversy, as Viper said, to create interest and advertise for the mag. it is also fun to poke the king and hail the 'under dog'.

they don't have to have equal number of games for each system to qualify as good. I wanted seperate listings for those who are planning to get only one system. for a mix, they should have a short list that gives the overall opinion. JVD gave a good example on how a list should have been compramised of.

Actually thier reasoning was more than that .

1) Failure to live up to Sony's own hype from e3 last year , they asked where was the killzone lvl graphics... it wasn't there

2) Over all MS had the games and sony didn't

3) pricing was to high for them .


I think everything they said in all the blurbs about each of the 3 companys were very fair and balanced


I think you'd be hard pressed outside of sony fan sites to find a publication or news site that felt sony won e3 or even just had a solid showing.
