Not as bad as I thought it looked. Obviously still could use some improvement

I want this game.

I must inflict massive damage on historically accurate giant crabs and experience real time weapon changing. :stirpot:

But anyways it is improving, but I cant look at the damn game without thinking of the E3 presentation.

The game still needs a lot of work...
Honestly at this point it's on the same level as Ninja Gaiden running at 720P IMO. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but I would expect more visually... Peace

Characters walk/run like a tank. That's like soooo ResidentEvil classic style from the PS1 era. Seeing such boring controls for a next-gen title was a bummer. And what wounding said, historically accurate crabs are teh cool lol! Man, the E3 presentation speech of Genji guy still gives me the chuckles

Were's my historically-accurate purple hippo?!?

That may look a bit better, hard to tell for me, but I don't really care I doubt I will ever wanna play this game.

man this game doesn't get any breaks.
I've said before, graphics notwithstanding the game is a lot of fun. Considering if this one is anything like the last one (and it looks like it will be, so...) give it a chance.

It obvious it has improved but there is also alot of time for them to work on the game. I'm sure we wont see a finished product untill TGS.

BTW, the 3rd pic looks superb.

Well it looks extremely boring to me, especially when you put it next to Heavenly Sword.

Sometimes I run across an article discussing interesting details and features of a game that, upon reading it, make me reconsider my interest or disinterest in a game. I have yet to run into such an article to alter my utter disinterest in this seemingly average, mediocre game. From what I've seen and read about it, Dynasty Warriors comes to mind, and any game that brings Dynasty Warriors to mind goes straight to the don't-give-a-rat's-ass list.

It doesn't help that my first impressions of this game came from what I seen on G4 (I'm pretty sure) with that guy going on about the historical accuracy and real-time weapon changes. You all know what I'm talking about. "Famous battles that actually took place in Ancient Japan" with giant crabs? Strike one. "You attack its weak point for massive damage," wow, that's so nifty! I've never been able to do that in a game before. Strike two. And then boasting about the nifty features of "real-time weapon change" and "real-time character change", like we haven't been able to do those in a thousand other games before. Strike three. Genji 2 is out!

I know, the guy was just a moron that presented it horribly, but it made a terrible first impression of the game and nothing I've seen or read of it since has done anything to change that. It just seems so "been there, done that fifty times already".

All I'm saying is, I played the first one, the only flaw of which was it could have been longer. It had some nice impressive ps2 graphics (although this one is probably just based off that engine unfortunately), and the story is interesting, the gameplay is fun. Cliffbo did you even play Genji 1? Or are you guesstimating? It is hardly rubbish. At worst it's an onimusha clone (so what) and at best it was a fun original title with some historical fiction.

well, yeah. but the ones that are particularly awesome are from the CG cutscenes. What hurts is knowing those cg cutscenes could be pulled off to pretty good extent. Won't stop me from getting the game though.

Not much in gameplay, not much in visuals. This'll be a cool used $10 game when the time comes. Nothing more than that.

I understand you may not like the visuals but how do you know there isnt much in gameplay? Is there a PS3 on loan to you with the game?
