Sony are currently having a rough ride with the media, so i thought it would be therapeutic for us forum users just to hand out a little love. they've given us some great hardware and some great games, which of course is the very reason this forum exists. no logic here or comparisons with other consoles, just unadulterated blind faith.

Cheers Sony!!!!! :pepper:

the healing begins...

Ummmm roast in hell Sony?

But, seriously, thanks Sony for all of the great things that you have brought to the gaming world. All of the hardware, games, advertisement compaigns, etc. Good luck on the PS3

And thank you for providing an excellent environment for games, especially RPGs. The PSX and PS2 were RPG centres because of the environment Sony provided. I hope the PS3 has an equally or even more intense RPG suite. :)

There's a lot of pessimism and criticism to PS3 because there's not too much to talk about it. By the time we know more about it, its games and the online platform, there will be a lot of good things to talk about.

Oh yeah, and those recharchable AA batteries I used in one of their CD players. Dear god those things were great. I must have listened to music a good 4 or 5 hours a day and just recharge them about once a week (I could get about 35 hours of play on them when they were fully charged) right inside the CD player! I used them for my GBC, remote controls, my other sony CD player. All sorts of things. I had them for over a yeaer like that before they died. Best 11 dollars I have ever spent probably. Thank god for you Sony and your recharchable batteries.

I have one Sony TV (second is Panasonic), two Sony videoplayers, one Sony hard disk recorder (160 GB), two PS2, still one PS1 in the closet, over 100 PS2 games, still over 50 PS1 games and I have never moded any of my console. Never had any problems with these avesome high-quality products.

I think I'm in love with Sony, because I have already pre-ordered highest quality game console, PS3.

Sony keep on good work, and tell MILR what RSX have inside please!!!!!!! so that he can sleep nights in rest and peace, send him a private message. I'm sure he won't tell your secret to anyone else.

Now I will own the PS3.

PS, PS2, PSP, and soon a PS3
Also, I have owned a Sony VCR, DVD Player, TV, Walkman, Memory Stick, among many other gadget goodies - and hopefully soon I can upgrade some of these(looking at the 1080pBravia, as wel as a DSLR, and/or HD camcorder)

Price is often a little more htan I woudl "like" but I like to buy quality products, adn overall Sony has never let me down. If they did they were good to fix whatever my issue was. They fixed my DRE for FREE even though my PS2 was a coupekl years old(and out of "legal" support range)

The only Sony product that ever failed on me was a walkman (dropped it several times) and a VHS player. But then again, I never owned a VHS player that did not fail after extended use no matter what brand. Otherwise, I always give Sony products serious consideration because it has earned my respect thru past positive experiences. Playstation brand gets extreme high props for games alone, although I've never had a console fail on me either.

Sony on Top in Annual 'Best Brands' Harris Poll for Seventh Consecutive Year

An online survey conducted by Harris Interactive of 2,351 adults in the US found Sony at their top of the "best brands" list for the 7th year in a row.

Gamers aren't exactly happy with PlayStation 3's price. Whether the mainstream will still gobble up the hardware remains to be seen, but their name still means something, and this poll could reflect their attitudes when the machine drops this fall.

Microsoft found itself on the list last year, but didn't manage enough votes this time. Sony's the only company in the top 10 that deals with videogames, though Apple's stellar iPod sales and marketing delivered a debut at the last spot.

The rest of the list includes:

1. Sony
2. Dell
3. Coca-Cola
4. Toyota
5. Ford
6. Honda
7. Hewlett Packard
8. General Electric
9. Kraft Foods
10. Apple

Sony on Top in Annual 'Best Brands' Harris Poll for Seventh Consecutive Year

ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony tops the list in the annual Harris Poll of "best brands" for an impressive seventh consecutive year. Dell retains its No. 2 spot, while Coca-Cola, previously in the fourth position, moves up to No. 3.

These are some of the results of a nationwide Harris Poll of 2,351 U.S. adults surveyed online by Harris Interactive® between June 7 and 13, 2006. Survey responses were unaided and a list of brand names was not presented to respondents. The results from this survey cannot be compared to results of the Harris Interactive 2006 EquiTrend Brand Study results, as the methodologies for the surveys differ (1).

The other places on the top-10 list of best brands are taken by Ford (No. 5), Honda (No. 6), Hewlett Packard (No. 7), General Electric (No. 8), Kraft Foods (No. 9) and Apple (No. 10). Two brands dropped out of this list this year, General Motors and Microsoft.

Other brands that receive a substantial number of mentions but not enough to make the top-10 list include Chevrolet, Panasonic, Pepsi Cola, Nike and Maytag.
