One Tiny Afrika Detail
The most mysterious PS3 title of them all has at least one talented staff member.
by IGN Staff

July 12, 2006 - Perhaps the most mysterious PS3 game from Sony's pre-E3 press conference was Afrika. The game's trailer showed realistic views of animal life in what most presumed to be a recreation of the African wild. But aside from that, details on the game were not revealed, and Sony spokespersons were notably shy about giving anything away in subsequent interviews.

Today, thanks to Japan's Weekly Famitsu magazine, we have exactly one tiny bit of information about the game. The magazine reveals that Sony Computer Entertainment's Daisaku Ikejiri has a hand in the game's development. Ikejiri previously worked as producer on Hot Shots Golf 3, 4, Portable and Online.

And that's all we know! We expect further details on the game around the September Tokyo Game Show.Source: IGN (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/718/718190p1.html)

All right, not too exciting news but this was going to be posted anyway :cowboy: Even though we know nothing about this game and it doesn't look like an action packed game (in a traditional sense at least), I am curious about it.

Interesting to guess just what kind of game it is. I don't imagine you shoot the animals, that would be tacky and Turok like, and shooters hardly ever come out of Japan.

I'm guessing you're a game warden of some kind.. Your actions effect the ecology of the region.

I am guessing a Zoo Tycoon type game but in Africa (duh) and you control an entire jungle/oasis type region and have to stop people from destroying the area and keep all of the animals happy. Or something like that.

The above pic is quiet pretty(except for the grass textures and the animal textures).

I'm still not sure what to make of this game as far as interaction and play. But the trailer released at E3, however, looks really amazing. I almost mistook it for the real deal if not for a few not so obvious places.

This game remind me Aquanaut's Holiday on PSX

Aquanaut's Holiday
An engaging, special, uncategorizable and weird game
by IGN Staff
November 21, 1996 - Aquanaut's Holiday occupies a peculiar space in the PlayStation's roster of shooters, fighters, and sports games. It's not really any of these. In fact, it's not really a game. At least, strictly speaking anyway. What Aquanaut's Holiday is, however, is a fun and immersive 3D underwater sim of the most relaxing kind.

You're plopped into the oceans of the world, with freedom of motion to go where ever you like. Along the way you establish underwater stations, build corral reefs, and pretty much just explore. Seen from a first person perspective, Aquanaut's Holiday exotic sea life and realistic landscapes soon have you believing you really are exploring the bottom of the ocean. Whether this will be enough to capture the attention of most gamers weaned on fast action remains to be seen. As it stands though, Aquanaut's Holiday is an engaging and very special game.

It wasn't very exating and I was surprised to be addict by the exploration of the bottom of he sea.
With the power of PS3, if they are beautiful, this type of game could really be addictive.
