New iPod Nano set for AugustAccording to a report on Think Secret, Apple will roll out the second generation of its iPod nano music player at its Worldwide Developers Conference - but don't expect too many new features.

The new nano is said to be very similar to the company's current model, but will feature increased capacity and be available in multiple colors, some of which will feature a metal alloy enclosure, which we reported on earlier this month. Exact capacities are still the subject of speculation, but rumour suggests the top-end model will move to either 6GB or 8GB. The current model hasn't been updated since its introduction last September.

The unveiling of the new nano will make up a double-header of key announcements by CEO Steve Jobs on August 7th, the other being Apple's move into movie rentals via iTunes. There isn't expected to be any neew on Apple's sixth-generation iPod - believed to feature a 3.5-inch touchscreen display. Technical obstacles have pushed this back to a likely date of early 2007.

I'm stuck between buying a smaller Nano (Generally because it's easier to jog with) and a proper, full sized 60GB iPod.

If an 8GB Nano is indeed released, then I will most likely go with that.

Nano iPods also work with Nike+Apple products, so you may want to look into those.

I want a Nano for workout purposes, and then a full on iPod for other media needs...gosh I need to get my spending habits evaluated.
