I like the defensive changes. Those guys needed some more points to make them worth having.

Yeah, and I made RB's actually worth somethign this year. I was sick of Tiki rushing for like 140 a game, and getting like 5 points out of it.

Count me in.
Did I miss something, or is there nothing for rushing yards?

LOL, I was just looking at that too.
Daniel, can you fix that?

Consider it done. It appears I had selected too many catagories for offense, so it omitted that one. I took off fumbles lost.
Let the trashtalking commence.

Honestly, I won last year, so why even try this year?

That was awesome. I love the He Hate Me pic for Smart by the way. He's like the only person who made the XFL work in his favor.
And you'll all be rocked by the Super Troopers.

Wow. We've got about double the people as last year.

I joined too, have a nice even number now so everyone has a weekly opponent. Draft order should be picked randomly.

I kinda rewarded the people who played last year, over the newbies, because we've played this several years now.

If you look at my profile, you'll see I'm not a rookie, but shouldn't the veterans have a bit more of a difficulty than the newbies? The newbies should get a little help and get to draft earlier. If you guarantee you are going to win, do you really have to get first pick just to help your cause? But if you don't want to change it, whatever. I'm going to win anyway.

So first pick....you're going Larry Johnson aren't you?
It doesn't really matter. If you pick late in the first round you will pick early in the 2nd, and the 2nd round is just as important as the first.

Haven't decided yet. It's either him or Mr. Alexander, to be sure. Larry hasn't had to carry the lo0ad of a full season yet, and while I know he'll have a productive year, I don't know if his body will hold uop.

You might think that, but with the 14 guys in the league, by the time the second round arrives you will see a serious decline in talent.

There is plenty of talent in the NFL to go around.

I'm not all about the LJ bandwagon yet, so I'd agree with you. Yeah the guy had a RIDICULOUS half a season last year, but I don't think he's going to duplicate that over a whole season.
And as far as a decrease in talent, good drafting in the later rounds is what MAKES your team man, I'm sure you know that.

Alright, I'm not complaining but I want an honest answer. Here is Yahoo's top 20 ranked players.
Default Rankings
1. S. Alexander
2. L. Johnson
3. L. Tomlinson
4. C. Portis
5. T. Barber
6. P. Manning
7. E. James
8. R. Johnson
9. S. Smith
10. L. Jordan
11. S. Jackson
12. L. Fitzgerald
13. C. Johnson
14. C. Williams
15. T. Holt
16. T. Owens
17. B. Westbrook
18. A. Boldin
19. R. Brown
20. M. Harrison
After about #9, I see a major decline in talent. That is just my honest answer. I don't care where I draft anymore, I will adapt to the situation and win the league, but I'm just wondering what you guys think of this top 20.
I don't know about you, but I'd take Cadillac and Holt on my team any day
ocarinamask
08-11-2006, 04:20 AM
I'd take Cadillac, but Holt does not deserve to be ranked that high, I would take T.O. way before I took Holt.
Holt is one of the top receivers in the game
Chris

LaMont Jordan and his 1500+ all-purpose yards and 10+ TDs is a drop off in talent only becuase of how phenomenal the RBs above him are. As for the rest, if you're considering it's a drop-off in talent because their WRs, and thus not worth as much, I'd understand that, but you're tlaking about the top receivers down there still. Smith, Johnson, TO, Holt, Boldin, Fitz, and Harrison(who should be higher). The only one I really have a problem with on that list is Westbrook. Granted he's EXTREMELY valuable to his actual team offense, but he doesn't put up the numbers to justify the 17th selection when he's still isn't an every down back yet. He put up 1200+ all-purpose yards last year though, and had 7 TDs, a nice selection, but not 17th overall. I'd take Ronnie Brown over him because he WILL be his teams rushing attack.
Oh yeah, and PORTIS SHOULD NOT BE ABOVE TIKI! Damn man, he'll never get the respect he deserves. He was second ALL-TIME in all-purpose yards last year, only Marshall Faulk had a better season than him. He lost the rushing title by 20 yards and would've been MVP had it not been for Alexander's RIDICULOUS amount of TDs and the fact that Brandon Jacobs took TDs away from Tiki.

Anquan Boldin and Marvin Harrison are way better recievers than Holt too, in my humble opinion.
Pro A.
08-24-2006, 10:18 PM
I still maintain Harrison is the best WR. 100 catches, around 12-15 TD's, and well over a thousand yards in receiving every single year. He is a can't miss lock for a first WR.
