SO I hvae this computer right. And my video card is making noise. I nkow its the fan, and how do i fix it.? The blades are scraping along the side.

I have the TI440. Geforce 4.

If the fan dies, shoudl i vbe scared?

if the fan dies that is a bad thing, try getting more air circulating around/in the machine just in case. See if the fan is out of ballance.

I would not reccomend running a Geforce 4 ti 440 Mx without a fan.

If you have had it for a while, it is possible the fan may be going bad and not scraping the sides. If it is, in fact, scraping the side, see if you can move or remove whatever it is scraping.

Word of caution, do not use a lot of force, and most definetly do not attemp to remve the fan and heatsink. If the fan is screwed on, then you could probably replace it. The heatsink , on the other hand, is perma-sealed to the surface of the card.

Sorry for the confusion, its actually a TI 4400. Forgot a zero because of drunkness. Either way, then that means i definitely shouldn't remove the fan.

I tried to gently adjust it earlier this week, and didn't help at all. And yeah, its screwed in, so I guess I better get a new fan....
