Thanks for the pics Buddy. The Graphics themselves are looking a little rough, but by no means terrible. I wouldn't expect too much from the overall look of this game but I will say one thing, having seen a gameplay video, it certainly looks like it will be predictable fun.

I think those cars look pretty damn good. This game isn't really on my radar, but nice screens.

Typical EA Crap everything looks lousy, as a consumer don't stand for this shit.

Have to agree. Got a gamespot "On the Spot" issue downloaded where they went to EA for 2 hours and got shown all the new stuff EA are working on, and you really do watch it and think "Damn... EA really are the dullest, least innovative video game company in the world".

Well, if only they would anti-aliase it. Then it would probably look way better.

Yea hot pursuit is great, in the original PSX Need for Speed. I loved when those police started screaming!!! You're destroyed Government property!

Too bad in real life going thru a red light just earned me a ticket

These shots don't look next-gen at all.

The quality doesn't look any different from NFS:Underground on PS2.

WTF EA? Look like my PC 2 years ago. I mean why are the cars not reflecting the enviroment properly and dull textures everywhere??

i expect photo realism from my racing games, so i'll skip over this one i think and wait for the real deal... and we all know what that is.

You play games only by graphics? If so, then you have missed out on alot of good games.

Not really but have you noticed how similar each NFS entry has been ever since few years ago? Neither is it polished graphically nor gameplay wise. Frankly, it's the same play mechanics I can find in Need for Speed HP2. So what is there to be excited about every new NFS but its graphics, Tell me? :)

BTW, I love NFS games, its just that they really need to step up atleast one thing and if its not gameplay then better be the other, right? Too bad that whatever we have so far is not a compelling case for the title.

Typical EA Crap everything looks lousy, as a consumer don't stand for this shit. i bet it still has that shitty rubberband physics too

whats up with all theise crapy race envioments too? i dont want to race in some place that looks like my home town!!!

exotic cars need exotic locations!!!

Bah, bring back the original Outrun, now that had real graphics! Anyway, I am tired of these vehicles shining like they have 100,000,000 layers of clear coat on them and if they are going to make the cars look like that, at least make the reflections from the environment crisp and clear. Anti aliasing would also be a good thing to see on these cars. Some of the pictures seem to have motion blur, so might be nice to see, but I need to see some new locations .

Jesus, Guys! You set your expectations high, you will be heading for more disapointment I can tell that.

PS2 graphics? Take another look at that alfa and the level of detail. PS2? I think not.

Higher res visuals, meaning that there are more polys per vehicle and the screen resolution is increased. But it DOES look like PS2 class assetts [from EA]. The cars from the latest WRC's on PS2 have similar detail as this (actually, the tend to look a bit better).

Again, this looks like a higher-res PS2 game, I'm sorry. There really is NO reason why a company with more than 2000 employees produces a game that looks like....this.

If I'm being honest, I think people are having a go at those images because it's EA. I mean, in my opinion, it's on par with some other PS3 titles.

We could get a group of guys that are really big into this sort of thing and they can discuss all the intimate technicalities but in the end 95% of gamers won't have any problem with these visuals. Whatever gripes people might have are about things that few of the people playing the games will even be aware of in the first place. Normal gamers will think this game looks just fine.

Not that World Rally Championship 4 isn't a nice-looking game for the PS2, but I'm not able to put my finger on what details WRC has that are lacking in Need for Speed: Carbon. What is it that I'm missing here?

I think the pictures look pretty good. At high res need for speed doesnt need AA. AA just makes thing blurry when sometimes its better to up the resolution. The game does need AF to clear up the textures in the distance. It's really annoying seeing them change as you get closer, or all the road lines suddenly get clearer as they pass a certain mark on your screen.
I was looking at some benchmarks a few months back. The basic results where Nvidia 7800 on sli hit 56 fps max on most wanted. On my PC most wanted was about 30fps. It plays at about 30 on the PS2 as well. I also know that the game suffered from multi processor problems -> stuttering. Happened on my PC but apparently it even happened on the Xbox360. Sounds like poor work to me. Provided they clear up that little mess add in some AF and get the framerate to a solid 60fps I'll like be very happy, but due to its multiplatformness I don't see that happening. Multiplatform will always hold the game back and in ps2's current state it can't really handle most wanted.

I love the idea of racing through real environments. Was one of the reasons I loved ridge racer 5 (according to official playstation magazine was the first racing game to use true environment mapping). Imagine how big it would be, how many more cars they could have license permitting, how much more music they could have and overall how detailled and big the races could be on a blu-ray disk. Sprints could be so much more fun.
Racing through the city rather than exotic environments makes it feel more down to earth, but exotic environments is something that also really lets the developers really show off in ridge racer in certain places

I'm not going to say the game looks bad because it doesn't but it reminds me ALOT of NFSU. ALOT.

NFS sucked since Hot pursuit...Then the sequel came out...lol But yeah I've been on Burnout more than NFS for the past few years but it's still a cool game, I just wouldn't buy it for $60 bucks...We can't expect EA to make everything look fantastatic-we're already getting Fight Night redone on PS3 and the Next Burnout should finally be a true next-gen sequel....the game is a welcome addition IMO..

i played underground then hot pursuit and thought hot pursuit was crap <rolls eyes>
The one thing I wanted them to do with underground was add police and they did in most wanted but they moved away slightly from the mod racer idea and with carbon it looks like the are really trying to hit the mix
