Have any of you ever read the books about Casca? It is a fictional story, but a very good one that spanned many books. I think it could be a great story to make into a game.
Here is the story.
Casca was a Roman soldier. He was the soldier who pierced Jesus side with a spear. As Jesus was suffering on the cross he asked Casca if he was happy the way he was with his life. Casca said he was. Jesus then told him something similiar to, "Then that way ye shall remain until I return."
Without realizing it Casca had some of Jesus's blood on his hand. He wiped his face and a tiny drop of it went into his mouth. Suddenly, he felt as if he was on fire. He was burning and went into a horrible fever. He was shaking and basically suffered tremendously.
Finally, he woke up and felt much better. He didn't remember a lot about that day, but he remembered what the man on the cross had told him. At some later point he was attacked and thought he was going to die, but suddenly healed very, very quickly. It turned out that he could not die. Also, it turned out that not matter how hard he tried his life always ended up that he was fighting. If he tried to have a family repeatedly something would happen to get him back into the military.
Casca became not only a good solider, but a fantastic one. Of course not being able to die helped. He fought in tons of wars, the civil war, vietnam, korea, and others. However, he is in pain. Because he is now NOT happy with his life. He does NOT want to remain that way any longer. He is sick of war and sick of battle.
His one hope is that he will see the man from the cross.
This was a GREAT series of books and I think they could make a fantastic game out of it. They could have him fighting in a HUGE series of battles spanning a couple thousand years. He could be burnt to the bone and slowly he would regenerate. Also, he can live off of little food, little sleep, and little water. He's a great solider and could become as talented as Solid Snake of MGS4.
If anyoen knows a game developer pass this idea along.
