SEGA's Leipzig line-up (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=66752)SEGA will field a strong line-up of playable titles at next week's Leipzig Games Convention and has also revealed the final name for Sonic's Nintendo Wii offering.
Let's deal with that first, then. Having previously gone by the working title of Sonic Wild Fire, we're now told that it will be called Sonic and the Secret Rings.
It along with Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, SEGA's other confirmed Wii title, will be playable behind closed doors much as they were at E3, as will PS3 versions of Virtua Tennis 3, SEGA Rally, Sonic The Hedgehog and Full Auto 2.
Out in the open though, you'll still be able to see a number of titles, including Medieval II: Total War, 360 versions of Sonic and Virtua Tennis, Phantasy Star Universe, Yakuza on PS2 and the PSP take on Sonic Rivals.
The full line-up:
* Medieval II: Total War (PC)
* Sonic The Hedgehog (Xbox 360, PS3)
* Sonic and the Secret Rings (Nintendo Wii)
* Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (Nintendo Wii)
* Virtua Tennis 3 (Xbox 360, PS3)
* SEGA Rally (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
* Yakuza (PS2)
* Phantasy Star Universe (PS2, PC, Xbox 360)
* Full Auto 2: Battlelines (PS3)
* Charlotte's Web (PC, GBA, Nintendo DS)
* Sonic Rivals (PSP)

I'm looking forward to Sega Rally, the original was my favourite Saturn game back in the day. None of the other games really interest me though.

I really wanna see what they do with Yakuza, should be an interesting game!
I hope that Sega Rally turns out well, rather than the somewhat trashy game released on the Playstation 2.

Looks like Gamecube and Xbox are not that hot consoles to SEGA any longer. ;)
Is SEGA rally supposed to be a launch title? If it is, it will be a must until Motorstorm shows up. :)
Here's a cut from the last SEGA Rally interview:
You're working on Xbox 360 and PS3 at the moment - how are you finding the challenge of getting up and running on the new hardware?
You know, whenever there's a console switch it's an incredibly exciting time. It's not an easy time, but I think it's an incredibly exciting time. Getting to grips with the hardware is not straightforward, for sure - there's definitely a learning curve there with both platforms, to find out exactly what they are capable of and what you can do.
I think that from our experience, there's enormous potential with both. The key is to get a good handle on what is achievable and where to channel your resources, and I think that's exactly where we are now. But yeah, every time there's a console switch there's a learning curve there, and it's normally fairly steep. It's a big jump in hardware again this time - it's multi-processor, multi-core, multi-threaded hardware, and it's definitely got some new challenges from a development point of view.
A lot of early titles on next-gen systems don't use the hardware very effectively; although this is your first title, it'll be out over 15 months after the launch of the Xbox 360. Will you be able to really exploit the 360, and indeed the PS3, to deliver a game that feels like a third or fourth wave title rather than a first wave title?
I'll be honest with you, starting this studio as a next-gen studio, that has always been our focus. You're right, I think a lot of people are looking at the hardware and getting things running, seeing what potential they have from very straightforward development efforts and then starting to expand later.
The E3 demo is already using the PlayStation 3 SPUs; the surface deformation you've seen is running on some of the Cell SPU processors. I think that from the outset, we've looked at techniques like deforming the surface, looked at the calculations involved in doing that, and that maps very well to the PlayStation's multi-processor architecture - so I think that's been very exciting for us from day one.

"Average, do not expect another Shenmue thrill." :(
Is what I heard I think. Also I remember hearing it was a bit weak, technical-wise. I dunno what that means, probably lots of bugs which I think will be fixed by Europe release anyway.
Such a shame though as I WAS expecting another Shenume :(
The titles in the first post look quite boring (exception of Yakuza)

Yes, I know what you're talking about. In one of the gamespot 'on the floor' videos during E3. One of the hosts was walking around Sega booth and right there in the background were movies running of Golden Axe and then Sega Rally. I took a good peak at it but still not sure if that was realtime or not. Although the graphics looked ditto like VF5 so who knows!
But we haven't had a proper chance to see that in directfeed. So maybe now would be the right time.

Too bad we can't get the next Total War game on PS3. We need serious RTS games on consoles to take off.

I agree, there has never been an RTS game on a console that appealed to a large console consumer base.
I would love to see Age of Empires come to the console (mainly so I could crank up the intro music).
Red Alert Retaliation was amazing for the Playstation, so much depth involved in two player link up. I'd love an RTS for the PS3.

I haven't played a decent RTS on a console sinse PS1, Warcraft II was on PS1 (even though I don't think many people bought it on PS1), and I think a Warhammer game.
