Signs of things to come?

Some could only hope and some may not give a damn. We earlier reported about the PC game, Call of Juarez, crossing over to next-gen consoles in 2007. No specific consoles were mentioned by Ubisoft and Techland during the announcement of their plans.

In case you have no idea what Call of Juarez is about, the game is loosely based on a number of Western movie hits from the seventies and eighties. Players will choose to play as either one of two different characters: Billy, a young fugitive accused of murder, or the merciless vigilante hunting him down, the Reverend Ray, an ex-outlaw who turned to religion, believing that God Himself has chosen Ray to be the instrument of His wrath. For now here are some screenshots. Look at them and decide if Call of Juarez has a spot in next-gen console gaming.

i have the pc demo. it's actually quite entertaining, and the graphics rock. my only gripe is the people's faces don't look natural when they talk. They need to work more on making their facial muscles deform their faces properly when moving. Half Life 2 can do it, so why not UBI?

The game is also perfectly fit for motion sensing, for instance, to do a quick draw, you move the mouse down real quick to grab your gun, then jerk it back up to draw and then shoot. See where I'm going?

Yeah, the PS3 controller is perfect for that. Is it a beta, or a demo of the final game? Also, do you have all effects enabled?

i don't know, and no. my 6800 chokes on that game, even with the extra pixel pipes unlocked and a slight overclock.

Wow, that is one effective way of using the tilt motion of PS3 pad. I had seen the PC videos of this game but wasn't sure how it would be as a final game. Now the prospect of getting maybe a specialty control mechanic with PS3, that'd be freaking awesome!
