The game is starting to look next gen. I really like the animations, the wind and grass physics, and the way the weapons fire. Next gen gameplay and graphics. Big improvement over COD2. But the problem is, there are too many fucking games too choose from on the PS3. I am going to be poor.

I was orginally unimpressed with COD3 until now. I have really learned that you should never judge a game until it %100 complete. I have a insanely hard decision on whether to get Resistance or this. Probably buy both and Tekken 6.

Talk about a MAJOR improvement.

Wow, the devs had a field day with the game after those alpha screens were shown.

It runs at a solid 60fps too!!!!

Now that's what I want a WWII FPS to play like lol. :)

I don't know really. Frosty mentioned Madden 07 looked better on the PS3 than the 360 version at E3. Sonic also looked better on the PS3 aswell. Due to Blu-Ray's space, the PS3 versions will also have extra content and new gameplay due to tilt.

Ummm from everything I have seen and heard of Madden at this point the 360 is looking better but it releases here shortly and the PS3 isnt coming out for a while yet.

I have heard several reports from E3 and seen various screenshots and this is the first I have ever heard of the PS3 game looking superior this but Ill take your word for it.

First things first, the PS3 version was mentioned to only be 30% complete on premature development kits. In other words, it wasn't the final hardware kits. On the other hand, the 360 version was more like 60% complete at a more advanced stage to developers.

You should checkout the trailers.

I do give the 360 a slight advantage in some places, but I also saw a few superior moments in the PS3 version.

I think we should drop this button topic. COD3 is a multiplatform title. The graphics are going to be more or less the same on both platforms regardless of what fanboys yell at us. So it wouldn't really matter if it is 360 or PS3's X button in the movie, now would it? Lets just drop it!

Considering the PS3 is just launching I would expect most multi-platform titles to look very similar on the consoles. Once we are a year into the PS3 life span we may see some minor improvements or differences in multi-platform releases, but considering rising development cost I would not expect any multi-platform game to effectively exploit the consoles real horse power...

The exclusive titles will truly showcase the PS3 power and I know this is a no brainer... Peace

The whole DOF thing with the zoom bothers me, it's not like only the peripheral objects are blurred, it's like everything becomes blurry when one zooms, that makes no sense. Also I find it a bit too chaotic to be fun, it's like, "who am I shooting at? I can't see nothing. Who's shooting at me? Am I being targetted in an airstrike/artillery strike? WTF is going on?" I know that WWII games are trying to portray this kind of feeling but you can only go so far before it starts to get in the way of fun and playability.

Not really. As a matter a fact, I don't think it solves it by a long shot. And now that I've gotten a little rest, I was able to dig a bit deeper into the subject.

First of all, IGN is notorious for putting up videos and in-game stills for platforms in which they don't belong. Already, I find that to be very suspicious.

Secondly, GameSpot has some of the very same videos listed in their inventory (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/callofduty3/media.html) for the Xbox360. Now, although they have them labeled to specific platforms , that still doesn't explain why some of the new footage that was claimed to be PS3 is only claimed as 360 while the one displaying the X face button is only PS3.

But that's not where it ends. There is a video (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/callofduty3/video_player.html?id=Jnw7lWf65bIMvjc) dated back a few months in which we all can agree on to have been 360 related gameplay. The strangest part about that video is it, too, displaying the same X face button just before we see one of the friendly soldiers entering a room momentarily before Y is shown late after that in a tuggle with the two soliders. Between that time and the previous period in which these two scenes take place, an overlay abruptly occurs onscreen. Within that overlay, there is no real instance where we witness a noticable change in the quality, detail, or environment before the face off scene takes place.

So what do I think now? The in-game footage could either be equal on both platforms or this footage, too, belongs to the 360. ;)

Gore...This game needs some very realistic gore.

When the enemy is charging to the player and he shoots him right on the neck, it's just unsatisfying for no blood to show. Imagine if his head will fall aside with lots of blood spraying out from his neck.

In older vids all the explosion clouds are really really thick and the overall contrast and luminance is different from the new videos. In the older videos the guy's hands are very dark, in the new one they are almost white.

So if they have changed a good lot of their basic graphical effects base in one month's time then I accept that it's all still only XB material.

My guess for the x-button mystery is that they have intentionally used the same graphical icon for x. In new videos there might be a close combat scene in t_callofduty_3_stlo_gp -video but they cut to another scene at the moment it might occur :)

Or who knows, those new videos might even be for Wii... :D

^^In Big Red One, at least with PS2 (X) is used to pick up stuff and open doors. To my knowledge it's used for reloading in XB360 CoD2. Might also have been used to pick stuff up, dunno.

Anyways, I would be surprised if the two versions look any different. The only multi-platform titles I've every played that took advantage of each platforms power was the 2K Sports brand of games.

P.S.- No playstation controller has an x-button that's colored completely blue. I would think the devs would make the x-button ingame look like th PS3 controller x-button if it was the PS3 verison.

I need to see this game running. So far, only Brothers in Arms has gotten my attention. To me, it feels more natural.
