Looks kind of bland. Has there been any referrence to customization possibilities.

Yes I definetely appreciate that aspect of it, but with the PS3 being a home console I would rather have a more in-depth roaming approach, but Im the kind that likes to play with a dashboard more so than simply get in and get out.

Simpler it is, more room in memory for the game. I approve.

With a simple interface you can bring up the entire dashboard in game, not a sub section.

You can say, change your network settings in game.

It's cool to see the basic interface, but I would like to see Sony's new marketplace for downloading music, HD videos & games on your PS3...

Well Im not sure that its that simple, with the amount of options Sony is touting the interface to support I believe that is whats causing the large amount of system rescources to be used.

But thats little more than an educated guess.

If an almost identical one fits into the PSP it can't be that demanding I imagine.

Or even the ability to change the icons like for the display setting I could have a picture of my tv taken off of my digital camera. Little things like that make an interface a lot of fun and very unique and personalized. (it seems maybe I have seen reference to this somewhere)

There is a lot of potential, I just dont want the interface to be *too* streamlined, as far as Im concerned its another toy to entertain me.

Bland? That's not the version we'll be using, it doesn't even have half of the options the final one will.

woundingchaney, no offence, but I think you're confusing this dev kit menu between the actual retail menu we will see in november.

you should read the page of this thread.

On this video there is HDMI0 and HDMI1, is it the come back of the "dual screen" ?

Yeah I noticed that, but it could be just because.... it is a dev kit. It would be nice to see though I guess.

They didnt say the one thing I wanted to know! Will I be able to check my messages and as CARTIER90 said, change settings in game. He just completely neglected to mention it. It woulda only taken about 10 more words but nooooo.
Oh well, something like that on a system like that would be obvious but it just seems something too clever for them to actually do first firmware time around
