My favorite team is the Bengals, because I've lived in Cincinnati my whole life. They have absolutely sucked for a good 95% of my whole life as well, being the worst team in any sport during the 90's. However, it looks that under the helm of Marvin Lewis and Carson Palmer, they're starting to turn it around.

With an explosive offense with the best O-line in the league, arguably the best receiving corps. in the league (with Chad Johnson who was #1 AFC receiver last year and who has the most rec. yards in the NFL over the past 2 years, TJ Houshmanzadeh, and young Chris Henry if he's not in jail.), a very solid running back in Rudi Johnson, and Carson Palmer who threw the most touchdown passes in the NFL and was 2nd in QB rating last year... we've definitely got that side of the ball covered.

We've really improved on our defense as well. Picked up Sam Adams to clog the middle and stop the run. Picked up Dexter Jackson who was Superbowl MVP a few years ago. One of our best DBs Madieu Williams returns this year after being injured last year. Picked up Ahmad Brooks, who has been called a more athletic AJ Hawk. So hopefully our defense can pull all of their talent together and really step it up this year. If they do I don't see how the Bengals won't be Super Bowl contenders.

Bucs, home team.

Defense is top 10 every year but I think we really need to start getting players to replace Brooks, Barber, and Kelly quicklike.

I think the offense is starting to come together FINALLY. After rotating QBs every fucking year it looks like we'll finally get some stability with Simms. The O-Line is finally getting some depth and Cadillac gives us a running back to build on and we have a pretty good group of WRs.

Seattle, they are the local team and I started following them when I was 7. They were mediocre for many years up until last season.

Cowboys. I've been a life long fan thanks to my old man.

Giants, lived in NY all my life and grew up a Giants fan.

And I agree with you assessment of Cincy except for the best o-line, I do believe that would belong to either Seattle or Kansas City, but I'm nitpicking. And a lot of the Bengals success will depend on Palmer's recovery. I recently heard that he doesn't think he'll be ready until at least a few games into the season, and if that's true he shouldn't be put out there earlier.

Well, up until the Packers got rid of their two top O-line guys two years ago, I would have put them as the top in the league. I would agree the Bengals have a great one though.

I'm a diehard Packers fan, have been since I was born. People say I came out of the womb with a cheese head on.

I love NFL football in general, though.

The Packers will have one of the best defenses in the league this year. Picked up Charles Woodsen (w00t. I'm also a huge Michigan fan, since that's where I was born.) and AJ Hawk. Amhad Carrol is looking great this year, as well. He's got a lot of strain off of him because he doesn't have to be the #2 CB anymore. As always, Al harris will be reliable.

kevin, your bengals are going down this monday.

Bears. I don't like the McCaskeys, the owners of the team. Bunch of Irish cheapskates can't get a fucking decent Quarterback in this town. Gotta love the D, though. Urlacher leading that war machine may yet get us to ten wins with a rough schedule, provided the offense actually shows up once in a while. Griese might be the starter if Grossman (who is one injury away from convincing everyone he's made of glass) doesn't show improvement.

Giants...born and raised in NY...Yonkers to be exact, and moved to LA when I was 14. One night back in 1990, I told my self I would either be a Giants fan, or a Jets fan. Thank god I made the right choice.

I'm a diehard Packers and have been all of my life. So is my father and grandfather so thats probably were I get it from. Their Defense should be in the top ten this year due to some nice offseason acquisitions and hopefully their offense won't be so injury prone this year.

Ummm I like the Packers too, but if you think they're going anywhere you're CRRAAZZZZYYYyty!

Agreed, Charles Woodson and AJ Hawk aren't enough to bring take that defense into the top 10. LBers are solid with Barnett and Hawk, but only one solid CB in Woodson, who hasn't been the same since his injury. Ahmad Carroll tackles people like they are slathered in butter, he just slides right off them, and Harris is horrible in run support. Plus letting Sharper go was one of the biggest mistakes they made last season. On the d-line though, nice set of bookends in Kampman and KGB to provide some pass rush, but I don't know about their tackles, I think people are going to run alll over GB this year.

And Farve doesn't have the personel to carry this team with the offense alone. He's got a nice backfield in Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport, and Samkon Gado, but not much to work with at WR after the departure of Jevon Walker. Plus their two guards on the offensive line are rookies, so I wonder how much time Farve going to have anyway.

All in all I think that the Pack is going to be looking up at most, if not all, of the NFC North this year, the Lions will probably bail them out of the basement though.

The funniest thing I saw/heard in the preseason was Favre saying this is the most talented team since he got to GB.

Seriously, I understand as the QB you have to exibit good leadership and you have to believe in your team, but that was just ridiculous. If they win the Superbowl I'll eat crow, but I am confident that that won't be happening.

If your watching the game right now between the Cincy and GB, you'll see some of that poor tackling, they just wiffed on like 4-5 tackles.

Well the Bengals first team totalled embarassed the Packers first team.

I always end up feeling bad for Brett Favre.. he's such a classy guy. Then I realize he's a millionaire and he's get rings and the Bengals were the worst team in the 90's.

Well Green bay did have a top 10 deffense last year(7 I think) and they haven't lost any talent only gained it. So i really don't see why they wouldn't be as good if not better this year. Granted their high ranking had everything to do with their #1 pass defense considering their rushing defense was like 20 something so hopefully they worked on that in the offseason.

Granted, it's preseason, but based on Cincinnati's massacre of the Pack yesterday, the outlook isn't too optimistic, but it was the Bengals too, not every team is going to be able to put up points like them.

And damn Kevin, Palmer looks damn good. I can't believe he managed to come back from an injury like that so soon and perform the way he did. 9 for 14 for 146 yards and 3 TDs, that's a hell of a line right there.

I know, I've been nervous for this moment for so long. Whether he'd be in the same form he was in last year or not. Granted, its still preseason, but it was a good feeling.
