Why does it say my Xbox 360 only has 12 GB?

It's normal (but I'm not sure why).

EDIT: I think the other 8GB are reserved for patches and stuff like that.

12gigs is still lots. Its not like you have to keep all the demos and stuff. I kinda wondered the samething when I first got my 360 too.

It seems like a lot cause thats 8 gigs out of 20

However if they release higher drives it will work like this

20 gig / 12 avalible
40 gig / 32 avalible
60 gig / 52 gigs avalible .

Thats why I think if they put out even a 40 gig drive it will hold everyone over for a long time

Yup you can delete the uneeded shit it takes a few gigs.

Hell yeah^ and all the Shitty music they had on there For me....I was very pissed when I first hooked it up in November,that I only had like 12-10GBs of Space...I was like WTF is this CHEAP SHIT!

Thats what I did and yes you can get considerably more space. Im thinking about 3 gig but I could be wrong.
