Man I was just watching the movie "The Wizard" with fred savage, then that song plays "Send me an Angel". I remember that song was like in all the classic 80's movies. I know it was in The Wizard and RAD for sure.

Then I looked it up on myspace becuase I wanted to listen to that song.

apparently nobody really cares about them anymore? But just thought that song was a classic.

I loved both movies, have them both and the song simply rocks.

I'll come back later with a list of killer 80's soundtrack songs.

Yeah we have RAD on VHS. Was it ever released on DVD? And I am still looking for The Wizard though it was just released on DVD.

I can't think of a whole lot of the top of my head, but Footloose comes to mind.

I thought of Ferris Bueller but what's really on it? There's only two songs that even come to mind. Maybe I just can't remember it well enough.

A bunch of random electronica but the two you are thinking of are probably Oh Yeah by Yello(played randomly throughout the whole movie) and March of the Swivelheads by The English Beat(played during the running sequence).

Good lord... that must've taken a while. Some really good choices, though. Too bad Goodfellas was released in 1990. That had an outstanding collection of songs, one after the other.

It did take some time but much of it was because I started off actually listing songs from them. The wiser side of me intervened.

After posting that though, I can say with much confidence that the 90's and the current half of the new decade don't even come close to that list.

Yeah movies seem to suck now. Well they dont suck, but they dont have the charm they used to.

How long has it been since there has been a kid/teen movie like the goonies? Now they are all pretty much 3d animated movies and they dont seem to make movies like that anymore.

Then there isnt memorable horror movies either, like The Thing or Evil Dead. It kind of irritates me. Although now I have an urge to go on a spree of watching old movies.

I think it depends if you're talking about songs that are written for the movie or songs from other artists on the soundtrack. I think Adam Sandler's movies always have an awesome soundtrack since he's a big rock guy too, so I like his choice of music for the movies. And Dukes of Hazzard had a badass soundtrack in that regard as well, James Gang, Ram Jam, ACDC, ZZ Top, and some other god shit.

Actually I'd say both. Music tracks and score. Obviously music is as subjective to the listener as anything.

As for Sandlers movies, I doubt he actually picks all the tracks himself. That's rare. Some may pick a title track though.

Obviously it's subjective, I'm just saying that I think, personally, since I like rock, that the soundtracks from his movies are always good. And since he's so musically inclined and he produces his movies I wouldn't be surprised if he's hands on with the track selection, but even if he doesn't, I'm sure he influences the selections regardless.
