Ok, I didn't really know where this would fit in these forums, but considering it is entertainment, I thought this would be the closest.

I have the Type S series 6.5's and 5x7's in my truck hooked to a 12v 400 watt alpine amp (4 channel). Right now, they are bridged to the first 2 channels and the other 2 channels are not used. All of the speakers are 240 watt peak. Would it make much difference if I hooked up one speaker per channel? I will also have to buy a new deck to do this because my current deck is a 2 year old kenwood model and only has one output in the back of it. It's already loud as hell and most likely the loudest "Treble" system in our small town of 3000, but I'm always striving for perfection.

I figured the garage was more oriented for showing off rides and questions about performance (driving wise) but, my first post still stands....

Definitely garage material.

It won't make much of a difference. But I do know that some amps throw out more wattage whilst bridges, but I'm not sure how accurate that is on 4 channel amps.

why the hell would you bridge a 4 channel amp with 4 speakers, down to two channels? the whole point of a 4 channel amp is to run 4 speakers. One speaker per channel. Surprised it hasn't blown the amp or speakers yet.

I shouldn't blow the amp, but I was quite confused as why he would do that.

Well, it was done like this for one, cuss my current deck only has one back output and i would have to use splitters (which i dont have at this time) and 2, originally i had a shitty bass tube in the back but i took it out.

If it's a four channel amp, you don't need two outputs in the back of your head unit. you'll need speaker wire running from each outlet, to the speaker. Extremely easy.

why the hell did you think you needed two outputs?

Most decent amps have a second output on them, anyway. They'll have an input, and anotehr output on them in case you're running two amps.

are you sure?

Virtually every amp that I've owned has had them, so I'm assuming, yes.

I have a 208 watt sony cd player with four infinity 6.5" speakers.

It isn't terribly flashy, but this is in a Corolla.

I have a Marshall Stack that a frend of mine gave me. I lifted the smugglers tray in the back ofmy HT Panel Van and secured it in. Run it to a second batch of batteries (five of them) and then took the headphone jack from the Head Unit and converted that to a 1/4" Cable which I ran to the Stack.

If you have it on any louder than 3 the smuggler tray bolts pretty much come loose and the glass would probably shatter if you had it any higher than 8.

It gives new meaning to the thing "Having an Amp in your Car"
