:cloud9: Now that the dark clouds have come n gone. It seems some rainbows have started to appear in the distance. And believe me with every passing day we're coming closer and closer to the base of this shiny beautiful rainbow called 'the TGS'.
Here ends my unpaid PR speech for Sony. :drunk: lol

IGN: Looking into the future, does Team Ninja have plans to develop PlayStation 3 games? And will there be any announcements of said games at TGS?
Tomonobu Itagaki: Yeah, we have seen the PlayStation 3 hardware and we're studying it. We're messing around with it right now. I think it's a good machine. But I think the most important thing is for people to have good games that they want to play on good hardware, so if there is a demand for it, we may follow that path some time in the future. Obviously, we are big supporters of the Xbox platform. There are a lot of fans of the Xbox that support us and are with us because of that, so I just want everyone to know that we are going to continue bringing out the newest releases on the Xbox platform before they're on other systems.

Say hello to Ninja Gaiden PS3, maybe, at TGS :grouphug:

Yeah the beach volley ball games are pretty cheesy, but they have a devote following. PS3 getting Team Ninja games would be a definite advantage though no matter how you slice it. Particularly the onset of the next NG.

Is it just me...or is all dev going the way of Multiplatform?? this sucks man...Sony and M$ first party devs are really gonna have to do everything on there own like Nintendo for there consoles to shine. (Just not as slow as Nintendo)

Team Ninja developing for the PS3 is great news IMO...
First off Ninja Gaiden was the best action title released on the XBox, period... Also, DOA4 may be the only next-gen fighter with online functionality and trust me, the game plays well online.

Not to say Ninja Gainden isn't a good game (I'm sure it is), but because it was only launced on the first Xbox is the problem.
Don't get me wrong; it's definitely great news to have Team Ninja aboard, but it's equally interesting to know that there are more than enough titles to go head on with just this one on the PlayStation platform.

No, the gameplay wasn't poor.
But it was disgustingly repetitive, unoriginal and overrated. It wasn't nearly as difficult as everyone made it out to be.

I thought I've been missing something these past months, and now I know what that was/is... Itagaki and his rediculous comments :)
As for DOA... not a fan of the series, interesting for a quick 20min run, but after that it's just the same old same old.
Ninja Gaiden would be the only interesting game to come over to Ps3, but that's only if it has new content (levels / stages / anything). If it's just a port, he can honestly keep Gaiden and DOA on the Xbox & 360 platforms.
As for the success of Gaiden and DOA on the Xbox & 360... look at the library of games they have to choose from, nothing very exciting or unique... just a handful of games that seem interesting... so its no wonder games like DOA and Gaiden would do well on the platform.

I asked myself that exact question when I first read the news anouncement and even before then. He did the samething with the PS2 and the PS1. No surprise that he's doing it now.
So when he speaks of himself preferring to work with only advance technology, I never take it literally. It mainly acts as an alibi to where such a thing is easier to swallow without a sudden backlash.

That sounds a little unnecessary. Its not like XBOX was/is weak but maybe they are doing it to get familiar with Cell and the system?

*How* in the world are people hating on this news? PS3's getting one of the major XBox devs to bring games over to the system and everyone's like: 'we don't even want your games!'
People understand that more games = better, right?
And Ninja Gaiden is one of this gens/last gens classic titles - not everything is breasts and cheese. Though with that said, I'm a fan of the DOA series, so I'll be picking up one of those as well. :smoke:

Itagaki thinks of himself as a Rockstar in the industry, he's a total Ronin and goes from master to master. Until the stronger Diamo is able to hold unto him, which so far has been Microsoft. But that will change again it seems

the only worthy title from TN, imo, is NG. DoA is a joke in Japan and you can easily brush it off with a MK- and that is saying something.

It’s not good news because Itagaki is a maggot of human being. All he’s ever done within this industry is jump ship to the most “powerful” hardware of every generation. And in doing this, he’s offered little more than solid and shallow “me too” clones of more established IPs.
Secondly, he’s done nothing but completely diss the PS2, suck the Xbox and the Xbox 360 (so much so that he has a “Congrads” marquee in one of DOA4’s stages) and TRY to coyly shit on the PS3 every so often within his oh-too-numerous interviews. So nooooooooow he wants to offer the PS3 his top title because of his own insecurities as a developer, the 360’s weaknesses and some extra cash?
Fuck him, I say. I’ll stick with God of War and even DMC at that rate. Let him keep sucking off Microsoft as their makeshift Japanese spokesperson, with all of his obnoxious wannabe 80’s rocker interviews. According to his own words numerous times, his work is soooooo much better than everyone else’s on the market, right (ironically, the same developers that he disses are the ones that he rips from). I’d much rather play the originals than the rip offs he produces any day.
So on that note, I STILL wouldn’t support him, even on the PS3!!
Seriously, I’d give my entire check to one of the homeless guys opening the door for me in downtown Manhattan than to ever give it toward Itagaki.
(Sorry for the rant, guys. But I had to get that off me chest)

Also, I hope the PS3 receives the true NG sequel, because it would be unfortunate for PS3 owners to miss the title... Peace

It'll arrive Nameless. There is no sense in Tecmo to keep their games exclusive to Xbox and not sell well at all. Having it multiplatform will open business and financial opportunities for Tecmo like never before.

Lali, he was only referring to it as in a wrong pirate name. Not the name itself.

Tecmo is multiplatform - Team Ninja is not.
And actually they made the decision to go exclusive for the exact opposite reasons initially; on XBox they felt they would stand out and get more sales, on PS2 they felt they'd be lost in the mix. And honestly it's worked for them - since going XBox exclusive they're back on the map and they probably sold a lot more units than they would have otherwise, at a reduced development cost.
But that's all history...
Frankly, all I'm saying is Ninja Gaiden is one of the best games of this generation, and the second-ranking XBox flagship title behind Halo. Who wouldn't want this coming to Playstation?
It's like when good JRPGs have been announced for 360, and you hear some XBox fanboys saying: Who cares about the Japanese and their stupid games? They can keep them!
Obviously those people are desperately confused, and there's something of the reverse happening here right now with this announcement in some peoples reactions.

XB, great post! I absolutely agree with the entire statement. :book:

not to defend the guy, but to reason the points you mention; there is nothing wrong with 'jumping ships'. if anything, it at least gives you more experience from working with diferent systems. also, the 'mee-too' clones is a normal practice. there are few original hits. everyone wants to make a better game and we end up with some hits and some misses. after all, it's only business.
Secondly, he’s done nothing but completely diss the PS2, suck the Xbox and the Xbox 360
personal opinions, or stupid remarks of some devs don't concern me at all. I don't care if they are making games from the lune-bin. he does what ever Tecmo tells him to do. other high-profile people in the dev community also say some really dumb things. it makes them look like idots. but who cares how some strangers look when I am busy staring at their games and playing them if they are good enough?
Bwahahaha She's a character Xbox owners have been dying to see playable in Ninja Gaiden. And guess who gets the prime treatment instead? PS3 owners! Bwahahahahahahaa!
I don't think there is much reason to get overly excited about this. imagine X2 getting a DMC3 Special Edition while PS3 gets DMC4. while some are playing yet another NG re-touched effort, there is an honest to goodness sequel coming to X2 that will most likely be announced in TGS or coming E3. then who will be laughing? ;p

like I said, DoA is a joke world wide. I think it gets some sales in NA and that's about it. I don't know the figures, but I remember reading an article from Japan saying that DoA does poorly in Japan and nobody plays it. it has a little U.S following, but the media really make it sound as it was a big game. I think even MK outsells it by far in all teritories.
also, even if he says Tekken and VF are garbage, it is like him saying penguins aren't really jeeves. to me it doesn't matter at all because I know my Tekken, and I know there is nothing that can touch it- eat that VF and SC fans! lol
the two others are too definitive names in the genre. 'everyone' wants to make the next Tekken or the next VF.
it's all cool. :)

Err, sorry but I'll still be laughing. 360 owners can have their special edition naked PS2 Dante and naked virgil. Besides, you missed my point entirely! NG with Rachel playable was a dream of almost everyone I've known with a working Xbox. See, and I too had been secretly wishing for them to include her someday with NGBlack so I can borrow my friends Xbox and play the damn game. But that never happened :cry2:
Now its happening on PS3. You wouldn't believe the reactions I got from my friends when I told them Rachel is playable. They were so stunned that they completely forgot that I also mentioned only on PS3 in the same sentence. I went totally evul with my buddies today :P One of them is selling his X360(those who recall, yea the same friend I shared the adapter joke with on IM) after I showed him scans of MGS4 and Level5 RPG. And the damned TGS hasn't even started yet. Lol

if you were a pirate and had a LocoRoco pic painted on the sides of your pirate ship, I will join your one-man crew. just call me Sally the Pirate Lord! or some such.
Err, sorry but I'll still be laughing.
you may not get my point. allow me to explain, or rather ask; is this version an exclusive? I mean a real exclusive and not a time based one?
isn't the next NG on X2 offer a second playble character and with even more weapons, moves, etc?
won't it be the next true chapter since the original came out?
how much will fans go crazy on a whole new sequel after so many 'special editions'?
I will say what I feel: this is great for PS3 owners that didn't get to play the game. but as a Box owner as well, this is a very old title being remade- again. granted, it will have better everything, but only very few new things.
playing threw the female perspective could be as good as playing through ADA's exclusively in RE4 for PS2. that may be worht getting excited for me. other than that, the game will have to fight for attention with the big boys coming out with it.
don't get me wrong, this is good news for PS3 no matter how you try to spin it. but personally, I can't get 'really' excited. maybe if I hadn't played both NG and NG:Black I would have been more enthusiastic.

I've already raped the game 10x over.
It's not as difficult (or as good) as many make it out to be. I'd say that it's good for Xbox, considering the drought of selective quality titles exclusive to the console. But I've played better.
Like I said, it's solid, pretty, but it's also a very blatant clone. I've played better.

Sigma is basically a port from the Black series with a few upgrades. Having that be the case while Team Ninja is at work on a completely different Ninja Gaiden, I'm thinking Sigma will be exclusive to the PS3 in the very same way DOA2:Hardcore was for the PS2 compared to the Dreamcast version.
Since now the PlayStation 3 is more powerful, not to mention Itagaki's loyalty to the Xbox and Microsoft, I'm thinking the next Ninja Gaiden in development will also come to the PS3 console but as a port from the 360 with probably some extra added features similiar to Sigma later on down the line.
that seems to be the logical way to do it.
