as for flames, it looks pretty good now but dnp, it need some more depth colour, deeper orange? and im hoping they add a cold flame (blue flames) closer to the mouth ^^ that would do me nicely

LaLiLuLeLo
07-02-2007, 08:19 PM
good lookin my brotha good lookin.

The blue of the flame is hotter, actually. The closer to the origin point of the flame, the hotter it is. Which doesn't apply to the enemy dragon who shoot blue flames in the game, that's just a design cue so you know who's friend or foe. The redder the flame gets the cooler and less pure the flame is.

Passive

I know Lali but the scientific term for blue flames is cold flames, dont ask me why XD. it confused me in 7th grade.

i think i saw a few shots a while back with cold flame near the dragons mouth, not sure though. the flames could do with a slight bit of work, not to much. and i dont really like the idea of enem dragons having different coloured flames :P the only way a flame colour can be changed is by adding another element, who knows maybe each different species of dragon will secreat a different toxin producing a different colour flame.

LaLiLuLeLo
07-02-2007, 08:26 PM
then some poor schmuck puts his hand in the 'cold flame' thinking it's cold and he doesn't have a hand anymore.

"Oh, well actually by 'cold' we mean, 'hotter than hot'."

Anyhoo, the flames work like you're thinking -- tap it for a fireball and hold for a stream. The flame is unfortunately the weak link in the game, but screens are pretty harsh on it since we don't really see it in freeze-frame. It looks better in motion but I wish it was more next-gen flame

There sure is a lot of hostility on the forum these days.

I will eat your face!!!!

hehe, I think people are just nervous. There's a lot at stake for PS3 fans at the moment. Like whether my $600 purchase is going to wind up Gamecubed into 1st party titles only... At least Sony saw this coming and boosted 1st party output.

[on topic] What are the chances this game ships with no shadows for ground soldiers/creatures as in the preview vids? I say 60/40 no shadows. I imagine the game is done now (or really close to it). Hope I'm wrong about that, btw...

Passive
07-03-2007, 08:40 AM
Thanks for the link Z :)

and i havent really noticed what you're talking about CW i'll just go look.

Edit: just watched a few clips, as far as i can tell its not so bad on the fields, there is so much grass you cant really see shadows. And as for solid groud, i see shadows. they just arent as dark as you would expect to be, if you look at the lighting of the level its alot of cloud cover so its alot of soft light sourcing so the shadows wouldnt be as prominant or as hard. i think they look good. im just taking a few screens for you.

LiquidEagle
07-03-2007, 09:21 AM
I think the game looks fantabulous as it is, and even if it doesn't have shadows for every single thing this game looks amazing and the scale is simply unrivaled.

Passive

Okay im done with my screens sorry about the quality but i get my point across:P the shadowing on the feild soldiers isnt even an issue there is so much grass you couldnt see what shadows there were but as you can see below on the rock type grounding there are some nice dark shadows on the closer soldiers and none on the ones in the background.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/4606/untitledmf8.jpg

But then in the next shot below you can see again the closer soldiers have hader/darker shadowing and some soldiers have softer shadows then the ones behind them have none.

http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/9857/untitled1ul5.jpg

And this below shot is pretty much the same. with harder shadows for the closer, softer or none for the further away. some dont have shaows at all that i could see but that could be camera angle or the un-even ground (wich is impressive in itself)

http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/6947/untitled5vi5.jpg

But in the picture below you can see the player isnt on the ground and a fair way away from the soldiers aso there is no shadowing, and in motion the player is moving rather fast and the lack of shadows is barly noticeable.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/2471/untitled3kj7.jpg

As you have most likely concluded the same i did, there is a type of "draw distance" for the shadows, as the player gets closer a harder shadow forms. and this i can deal with and imo i like it better than a constant hard shadowing on every single soldier putting extra work on the ps3s cpu.

VG Aficionado
07-03-2007, 11:18 AM
BlackSin man, those are just the kind of things you could only notice when you're NOT playing the game. You've really got to be bored and observing screenshots to notice that :-p

C'mon people, don't be so nitpicky. It's not like crossdressed colossi are roaming somewhere on the map: the games can't be perfect no matter what and there have to be small "flaws" everywhere.

Really as you watch this game in motion, if the only thing yop can say is, look there are no shadows, here......or here, then really i don't think there is ever going to be a game to satisfy you. I agree the flame is a bit weak. But has anyone actually ever seen a dragons flame. For all we know they coughed up a little lighter flash. If there ever really was any dragons. Did anyone ever think of that?

I agree with you on that. i was just adressing what was bought up? why is that so wrong? i dont want shadows on every sodlier thank you haha! i like my ps3 at a nice operating temperature. and as for fir i have to disagree :P the way they have explained it in a dev interveiw is that the dragons spray two types of chemicals from their mouths and when the chemicals mix they 'ignight' usually that means flames :P and seeming as they are big creaturs they would logically spray a fair distance so i doubt it would be a 'little lighter flash" haha, just my take on it. but i do like your point of how we dont know what dragons flames would be like because they are not real creatures. but then that leaves it open for creation and interpretaion.

Yikes, look what I started. My bad, BlackSin. +rep for the pic analysis. I hadn't noticed that the shadows vary based on distance to player. I guess with dynamic lighting you can't just add shadow to the model (paint it on) to make the ground soldiers look less like "chess pieces."

I still say that those rhino things look strange without shadows of some kind. Especially when you compare them to the huge-oliphant-mimicking creatures that appear to be catching shadows from buildings behind them. Give me a little black spritey circle if we're maxed out on RAM just so it doesn't stand out as unusual in the game universe.

But of course the game looks good. It's only because the lack of shadows (sometimes) stands out so much that I mentioned it at all.

Hey everyone, I’m Ryan Hamlyn, I’m the associate producer for Lair. It’s been a long haul—almost 2 years for me, and even longer for some of the team over at our developer, Factor 5—but putting the finishing touches on the game and now seeing all our work culminate into a finished product is very exciting.

I’ve spent every free moment I’ve had lately playing this game, looking for bugs and places to add polish. And yeah, I know I’m biased, but I have to say, the more I play this game the more fun I’m having, which certainly speaks to the depth we’re achieving with the gameplay. Plus we’re getting screenshots like this one of our Spiderwasp boss above, and the game is just looking gorgeous. I love the sense of scale that you get in this shot, and that the Spiderwasp itself has so much detail. In order to get this guy in the game, Factor 5 created a physical model (or maquette), had it scanned to the nth detail and then worked from the scans to get it modeled and textured digitally. A long process to say the least, but the results were worth it and speak for themselves… and wait until you see it move! In fact, you won’t have to wait much longer, as Lair is set to launch on Aug. 14th. In the meantime, you can whet your appetite with some brand new videos and other cool content that’s on our recently updated official Lair site.

For instance I read this morning over at N4G that some one noticed in the middle of a video that during an intense water battle the fireball had no reflection. Sorry but I think some people are really just looking now to pull any old pap out there ass to knock it down.

oh i agree with you, 100% the game looks amazing. and fireball reflection? lol wtf? who cares. its a game where you fly a dragon and the sheer amount of things going on is friggen sweet. just lok at those vids in my previous post ;) damn sweet. so cant wait for the demo ^^

Every time I see the dragon swing a guy in his mouth in slow motion, it reminds me of that scene in Return of the King when the Witch King's dragon grabs Theoden & swings him in front of Eowynn. (spelling?)

I have watched the demos for this but not done too much reading. Does anyone know how the levels play out. I was thinking it would be good in some of the really big open levels if you could do what you wanted to help out. If you get my meaning. Then when something important happens your directed to this. Give the game a kind of open quality. The replay value would be ace. First time thru you could do lots of attacking in one area, next play thru you could help somewhere else.

Any one know, or anyone like the idea?

Agreed, the musical score is one of the best ive heared from a game to date. i actually collect Film/TV/Game scores (over 90,000 files now im so proud lol) and aside from the mgs score i do believe this soundtrack will shape up to be one of the best. and we have only heard a snippit. The are not many other games out there that have a good score track, but as we slowly get into the new-gen of consoles, the budget is going up for games and we will hear better scores, and well better sound effects aswell. and as i said as a collecter im relly looking forward to what some games will show, lair, hs, mgs4 (man that one has me excited if it anything like the trailer music) assassins creed could be good too.

Man..the MGS theme is an absolute classic in my book. Its so memorable. Definantly number 1 in my oppinion. And the whole soundtrack works perfectly for the game (all the MGS games really). Hopefully Lair can have a cohesive and memorable feel like MGS does.

That's much better than the rumored September European date. I have a free week in August, so if there aren't any news on a final European date this month, I'll import it and get it just in time for the holidays.

1. What game do you have at E3 this year?
LAIR. And if it isn’t there I am not there.

2. Describe it in five words or less.
Dragons. Combat. Flight. Fight. Done.

3. Tell us more about your game. What’s the story?
The story is about Rohn, a dragon pilot and elite member of the military. The world is being thrown into chaos by natural disasters, the government is taken over by fanatics who exploit this, and Rohn has to fight a war that makes him question his moral stance. The story starts out very black and white, but it becomes grey and triggers a lot of questions, both for the hero as well as, we hope, the player. It’s not your typical video game story.

4. What did you do on this game that you couldn’t do on another platform?
The combination of traditional controls and radical new usage of motion control is certainly something only possible with the Sixaxis. That then combined with the 1080p graphics and 7.1 hi-def sound, I wouldn’t know of any other platform offering that combination. The PS3 and Lair complement each other rather perfectly.

5. Do you have any “firsts” in this game that have never been done before?
A lot, actually. There never has been an action game that goes seamlessly from the 10000 foot point of action to the very intimate on the-ground battles. There has never been a game that uses motion control and classic controls to bring visceral combat to life - and that in many different gameplay mechanics. And I think even in terms of story we are breaking new ground for video games as a more sophisticated
storytelling device with larger and very contemporary themes.

6. What do you think is the coolest aspect of this game?
The control of the dragon. All these new things to experience that no game has done before. Well, that and the epic feeling of everything. Epic vs. controls, I am torn which one is cooler.

7. If you could sit one person in front of your game for an hour, who would it be?
My Mom. The last thing we played together on a TV was Warlords on the Atari 2600 so she needs to catch up.

8. What game do you most want an hour to sit in front of yourself (besides your own)?
Least of all my own. I hope to spend some quality time with Uncharted and Ratchet, especially since my kids are the biggest Ratchet fans on the planet. And let’s see how far Kojima-san’s newest Metal Gear has come. Outside of all things PlayStation I am a sucker for Mario Galaxy.

9. How many E3’s does E3 2007 mark for you?
All of them. I am so old that I attended CES before E3 came about.

10. Describe the pre-2007 E3 experience in five words or less.
Finishing Lair. Lot’s of sleep.

11. Most over used phrase or expression during E3 season.
“Do you have a ticket for the Sony party?”

12. You are asked to make suggestions for an E3 survival kit- what three items HAVE to be included?
A ticket for the Sony party. Something for headaches. A friendly cab-driver

13. What advice would you have for someone who has never experienced E3?
It’s much better experiencing it now than it was before. Less bare flesh and more quality game time.

14. Describe what you anticipate from 2007’s newly formatted E3 in five words or less.
Less Crowds. More Focus.

15. What’s your favorite part about developing games for a living?
Sharing the results with my children. They recently got into some of my older games and it’s so cool experiencing the games again through the eyes of my kids. And that would be a close tie with the perks of the workplace here at Factor 5, most of all fresh imported German beer on tap!

I'm looking forward to the time when developers like Factor 5 and FRD don't have to say that it raises questions about seemingly black & white situations. With movies and other art, it's pretty much expected to not show a black & white image of good & bad with nothing in between, and I'm glad games like Lair are willing to push into that relatively new area... I'm just looking forward to the day it's more of an expectation than it is a selling point.

It's not the server bro. Just that the local ISP has some issues with images that were previously hosted at Flikr. Them not being of appropriate nature I mean. So it got blocked after some parents got involved in the protest. The only ISP that is had to block it. Orkut was a recent victim of parent protest. Parents are so god damn lazy these days. Instead of monitoring what their kids do online, they are leaving the govts or institutions to do their bidding. Sux. Never gonna be such a parent.

Sorry guys definite disagreement with frosty. Lair comes off awe inspiring and awful at times. Excellent cinematic presentation is then followed by gameplay revolving around empty environments and repetitive builds. Explosions and flame effects are well done but nothing extra-ordinary. When gameplay shifts to the city the draw distance starts to rear its ugly head. A very detailed city-esque landscape appears as little more than block builds in even the mid-distance scale. Framerate dips are common amongst the larger actions sequences (explosions, city environ., etc). The bridge sequence with the massive amounts of soldiers was poorly done as well with hundreds of the same character models (maybe slightly different) running moronically towards the dragon and rider, there was little to suggest a positive implementation of AI amongst the enemies in this portion of the title. Character builds are impressive, but are hampered by shoddy texture work as well as poor lighting and aliasing. This game during gameplay is definitely not well referenced by media screenshots and trailers.

-although who knows at what level the playable portion was at, worst playable title on floor from Sony's Fall lineup (imo)

The use of the sixaxis was is the best implementation bar none so far (imo). B

It's still really ridiculous that they are able to push this kind of detail out at 1080p.

It makes all of these other developers who are running their games at 720p to maintain visual quality like they aren't even trying. This 1080p game looks better than many games running at 720p (definitely not every game though).

I mean come on, did anyone see Eragon? I did (for free, since I still worked at Regal at the time), and it's a lousy movie. But just having a dragon in it makes it bearable.

Play Drakangard? Lousy game, but it having a dragon in it, makes it pretty fun despite the fact. So even if Lair blows chunks, which it won't, because I just played the shit out of it and know it's sweet sweet fun, it's still GOT A FUCKING DRAGON IN IT.

Ohhh yes.

adendum:
It's got dragons in it!
I mean, before we've even weighed in playability or fun factor or graphics or sound (which I all think were great despite some slowdown when the background got REEAAALLLLLLY huge), it's already a 6/10.

I didn't play that much of Drakengard, but from what I did play, the impression I got from it was that it was Dynasty Warriors with a dragon in it. The gameplay itself was pretty bland and boring. I think anything with a dragon or a ninja automatically makes things better.

I figure you have a personal problem with me. If that is the case do me a favor and don't reply to any of my posts regardless of how I offend you.

I thought I was asking a legitimate question and I figured the local experts would have some info to add. I see all kinds of talk about graphics and anticipation but very little talk or shown in regards to overall gameplay.

I seriously want to know about the gameplay. I've yet to watch a video or read a hands on impresson that has much information in regards to how this game is going to play. That is unless all that I've seen is all that there is. I know your dragon rider can jump onto another dragon and battle, and I know you can land and torch all kinds of ground soldiers, and of course flying around breathing fireballs at other dragons. Outside of that what else is in this game, becuase if what I mentioned above is all the game offers then I am not looking forward to it as much as I once was.

WHAT IS GOING TO MAKE THIS GAME DEEP IN GAMEPLAY ?

Flying around in a dragon and killing other dragons. That's deep, man. That's deep.

Take Halo. You run around with a gun and kill other people, and that was very deep. So that's how deep Lair will be too, except it's with dragons.

Seriously, it's not about how deep it is. It's about how fun it is.

I ask him a legitimate question, and I think he was serious based upon a reply I recieved in another thread from him... so let him answer it.

but I expect more in this game then a simple flight and fire breathe.... There has to be deeper elements to the game that keeps in intruiging otherwise it will just be repetitive and the game will become boring.

At this point the game looks kinda boring, and I have had high hopes. So that is just my opinion. As we get closer to its release I had expected to see much more in the game play elements. What I have seen isn't much at all, and I am dissapointed.

I was simply hoping someone would have some info to add that I had missed or have not seen... but I guess there isn't anything if the replies I get are as generic as the gameplay videos circulating.

Halo does have some fun vehicles to use, and online play. Resistance had some vehicles and some fun Boss battles, and great online play

and yes I agree with the fun factor, but there is no online in Lair, and just flying around shooting fire won't be enough for me. I like combos, and RPG like stats systems in my action adventure games, what does Lair offer in those regards. I beleive when yo uleap from your Dragon and engage in hand to hand battles with other dragon riders there is a combo system.. but how deep will that run. they haven't shown alot here.

I can not help it, I want badly for this game to set precedent, to be deep... to me a game like Lair needs tpo be a deep game to be a fun game, and that is just personal opinion. that is why I am asking this question.

Lair Hands-on
By Tom Orry - 13/07/2007 - 9:41am GMT

LAIR has been around for a long time. It was one of the first games to be announced for the PlayStation 3 and it has understandably gained a lot of fan support and hype. Any game that's made by Factor5, the guys behind the Rogue Squadron series, that features dragons fighting each other in mid-air fire-fights gets the attention of the average gamer pretty quickly. With all the hype and the need for LAIR to be a big hit on Sony's newest console the stage is set for a disaster of monstrous proportions, but I'm happy to report that this fantasy action game could be the most exciting game the PS3 sees this year.

http://img.pro-g.co.uk/images/ps3/lair/screens/lair_13.jpg
Flying a dragon has never been so much fun

While still a work in progress, the numerous levels I played of LAIR point towards a very strong final product. A training level gets you up to speed with the ins and outs of flying a dragon, and thankfully it's pretty simple stuff. Controlled entirely with the motion control of the Sixaxis, tilting controls your dragon's pitching and banking, as if you're in control of a plane. It works surprisingly well, with the dragon's animal nature allowing for less precision than you'd expect from a finely tuned aircraft.

Various other aerial manoeuvres are carried out by a simple push and shove of the controller; a 180 turn for example is performed by a simple upwards shove of the Sixaxis, allowing you to turn and face enemies in double quick time. It's all pretty intuitive stuff, and before too long you wonder what the game would have felt like with bog standard analogue stick controls.

Combat is the other big part of gameplay and your dragon, as has been the case with dragons throughout fantasy history, can breathe fire. A press of the Square button will fire off a pellet of fire, with repeated presses acting almost like a machine gun. Holding down the button will unleash a stream of fire, capable of taking out waves of enemies, but this seems to be more useful when moving across the ground.

One enemy I encountered was a giant sea serpent, hell-bent on eating the slow-moving flying Manta that I had been instructed to protect.

Your dragon can also land, with controls switching to a more common action game set-up. As well as the standard fire attacks, a slash and charge move are both available, with the camera often switching to slow-motion to highlight particularly nasty swipes. The missions I played seemed to offer a good mixture of on-foot and air gameplay, with the choice of which to use often being left up to the player.

Aside from these core areas of combat, LAIR also features some up close and personal stuff. By engaging with other dragons you can enter into a beat-'em-up of sorts, where you can slash, breath fire, block and more. The camera closes in on the action and the two beasts go at it until one falls to his death. Grounded beasts can also be taken on in a similar fashion, with my dragon swooping down to rip the heads off of the rampaging armoured rhinos below.

Larger enemies will also be featured, often as full-blown boss battles. One enemy I encountered was a giant sea serpent, hell-bent on eating the slow-moving flying Manta that I had been instructed to protect. The huge swimming snake moved through the water at an alarming rate, its head continuously moving above and below the water. Other boss battles are likely to be equally grand in scale, with the mythical creatures allowing for a wide array of nasties.

http://img.pro-g.co.uk/images/ps3/lair/screens/lair_19.jpg
Visually the game often looks spectacular

LAIR has divided opinion on message boards over its visuals. Some claim it's the most impressive looking game yet seen on the PS3, while others have gone as far as calling it ugly. The truth is that LAIR is often stunning to look at, with more on-screen than most games dream about. Dragons can be seen swarming all over the place, fire darts through the sky, buildings and ancient structures tower over the landscape and water moves as fluidly as the real thing. With a few months of polish LAIR will undoubtedly be one of the showcase PS3 titles.

Although hard to get a true sense of story, the game will use a mix of in-game cinematics and beautiful CG scenes. Voice acting seems to be at the top of its class too, which should help the game in its strive to be more than another action title. Fellow dragon riders that assist you in the air can also be heard, commenting on the current situation in a way that makes the game world seem more believable.

I had my doubts about LAIR leading up to E3 2007, but the guys at Factor 5 are certainly on the right track. The controls are tight and intuitive, the gameplay is exciting and engaging, and the visuals are coming together very nicely indeed. The PlayStation 3 is in dire need of triple-A titles and LAIR should be one of those when it launches later this year.

By the by, I respectfully disagree with WoundingChaney. I played through most of the demo and I enjoyed every minute, day one purchase for me. One thing we do agree on is Sony was pretty much the only publisher who took the Barker Hangar show floor any kind of serious.

Absolutely Sony really came out of their shells to give the general media a nice display of their titles. The other large corps in the presentation kept most of their quality stuff to themselves in individual hotels, though we gained access to MS it was a considerably more hectic schedule than Sony's offerings. Kudos to Sony in this regard.

She said the development team had done a number of things to try and tweak the visual cues, making it easier to understand what you were supposed to do in a given mission. One of the things they did was increase the bloom around your target, giving the item or creature a bit more of a glow to it so it is easier to recognize. They also increased the volume for the vocal cues a bit and have them repeat if you seem to be aimlessly flying around.

The only other major tweak I noticed was that when you take to the ground you no longer use the SIXAXIS motion to move around, instead you use the sticks, which feels a lot better. Motion control on the ground just doesn't feel right to me.

I ended up playing through the entire demo this time around, starting with the training session and wrapping up with the mini boss battle. The game retains its beauty, and does feel a bit more understandable if you progress through it slowly. I think there will still be gamers who get frustrated playing the game, but it doesn't kill the experience.

The bottom line is that this is one of those games that's got a fairly steep learning curve and not a ton of time to learn what you have to do, but it's also meant to be played and replayed (so you can unlock a bunch of bonus content like behind the scenes and art assets), so I'm sure most gamers will put up with.

Thanks again.

Still not much talked about in there that I didn't already know.

Basically the games only real draw seems to be flying around using the 6 axis (if there is more fill me in). If the Boss battles prove to be many and epic and the game finds multiple ways of challenging your flying skills then we have something to get excited about... They just have not shown that off yet. I'm not saying it won't be there, I just haven't heard squat about Lair other then the obvious which has been covered in those hands on reports.

As for the ground stuff, all I've seen there is a dragon landing and easily dispersing with scores of ground troops with little consequence.

At this point I will probably hold off on Lair until I hear more from the legions who plopped down $60 for it, or until I see some gameplay that gets me excited. This just is not a must have at this point for me. I have played Dragon games and I have shot fire before so there is absolutly nothing here that seems to be a refreshing change of pace. I am just looking for something

I just got my most recent "Play" magazine in the mail and it has a Lair review. It appears this game has lived up to the hype!

It received a 9.0/10.0!!! Pretty good.

They say this game is what the ps3 needed from launch.

Some quotes:

So yes, if there's any doubt left, Lair has come together beautifully

with its stunning visuals and incredible soundtrack, Lair may well be the single most powerful experience that a man can share with his $5,000 home theatre system.

Lair is an utter feast for the eyes

Don't assume that because Lair is such a stunning piece of eye candy that there isn't also a substantial game at its core.

If gliding over a beautiful starlit ocean to the haunting strains of opera doesn't impress you, you're dead inside

It also says all framerate issues have been fixed!!! (one of my biggest concerns)

The only negatives were that objectives weren't explained well enough and confusing navigation sometimes.

They say that some of the confusion is because it combines nearly 6 genres into one game...but once you get use to it, it is a game with incredible depth.

It also says that replay value is extremely high--you can receive higher ranks and that unlocks amazing stuff such as new dragons, etc. to kick butt with.

Enjoy peoples!!!

*sigh* I wish we wouldn't have to wait for localization. I do know it's important for the European market and Sony has especially been good at penetrating markets with localization as a key differentiator. I also believe Heavenly Sword will come in 21 languages. But - there are also a lot of people only using the English material - especially on mature titles.

So, your guess is as good as mine: when will it hit Europe?

Given all the content and interest here on Lair, I figured you guys would also be interested to hear that the North American version of Lair has completed its development and is now in manufacturing! That means that we are on track for our August 14 release date. It goes without saying that we’re eager to get this out to those of you that have been waiting so patiently (or not!) for it to arrive. Considering the new PS3 price and now Lair, hopefully there’s even more of a reason to scoop up a PS3 if you haven’t already!

For us, there’s still a bit of work to do, as we have localization to finish up for Europe, Japan, Korea, and more, which will all hopefully follow very soon. Once those are out, our leaderboards will truly be global, and then we can see once and for all who the best Lair players are out there! The gauntlet has been thrown, and North American players are getting Lair first, so don’t give that advantage away…

We also have some great updates for the official Lair site that will be live soon, so keep an eye out for those …

I am glad they made the fire look much better. also that looks like a Japanese demo! I want a demo too!
wouldn't it be a great surprise if it just suddenly appeared on PSN followed by a blog update saying; 'hey, fans, the Lair demo is already out! go d/l and play it now!'?

they sure do. the game keeps getting better as time goes by. I think it is safe to presume these are from the final build. it is amazing what they could do with this brand new hardway with in 12 months after release!

they say it looks awesome, but has some control issues. there's some other stuff, but i'll keep it vague to stay within the tos.

What a way to fuck up anticipation.

I think the reviews might be really random on this one....

i agree with you.

but then, i could care less about review scores. they guys who review these games state their opinion, and its no better than anybody else on this board or any other. i buy games based on my own opinion.

be it 1/10 or 10/10 i'll so get this game. if there's any logic to this, that review is written by a mentally retarded prick who seriously needs help and quit his job.
