In cash. I sell crack.
I'm kidding. I'm not a drug dealer, but the buttery topping we put on popcorn at the movies could kill you if you eat enough of it. Hahaha... Yeah I just saved the money and that's that.
I've reiterated it before I have the luxury of saving money. Little here, a lot there. I try to save 100 bucks at a time. I hit 600. Now I just want another 200+ for games and accessories.

LaLiLu I'm not saying your sig isn't awesome - it is - but it's also too big. ;)
Can you shrink it down some or something?
I'll be using a credit card.

YEah I was afraid it might be. I'll get on it straight away.

Done annnnd done.
I look forward to dropping about 800 large in cash on the table and pissing off the cashier. I could go to the bank and get fewer, larger bills, but I kinda like this better.

I already have the money, I could save it easily this year. I also bought a HDTV a couple of months ago with the money I got when I did a few translation jobs. And now that I've been awarded a scholarship my wallet will be even healthier, so I think I will buy a new digital camera and maybe a Wii (if I like some games) before I buy my PS3 next March. And of course, many PS2 and PSP games until then.
I feel fortunate, but I also worked for my fortune to happen.
My advice: get a job, and not just to pay for your PS3. Hopefully I'll become a civil servant next year.

Luckily with the job I have, 1 weeks pay can buy me 2 $600 PS3 and a Wii. I sell electronics at a high end store and recently got the chance to take home a Bluray player(not to keep just to try). Can't wait to bring some of that home for keeps

I just started a job today, I am in college and still living with my parents so I don't have a whole lot in the way of expenses. (Yay for college loans! Well at least till I have to pay them back, lol.)

I'm starting to save money from today (payday) if I can find one at launch I'll pick up the console, Resistance and an extra controller. My bro will be picking up one other game, perhaps Untold Legends.

I've always heard that metropolitan beggars earn up to 300 € in a single day if they know where to do it.
Remember kids: need fast money? Just get some shabby clothes, don't bathe for a month (or get the equivalent amount of dirt somehow) and you're set to go!

If you are running really low on cash, here's a way to get a PS3 for under $20bucks...
Buy a ski mask and a hammer, hide in the EB games parking lot...

to be completely honest tho, it cost me $258, for the $600 model.
figure i won't have it til December (if i'm lucky considering the shortages). my 42" Wega should arrive in December as well (also free. well... about $30 to be honest again :)).

My parents are going to be paying for it. Aren't I fortunate?
Not old enough to hold a job, so, that's the only option I have, unless I steal one. And as for games..I'll probably be saving my lunch money for at least TWO games.
im probabily going to take a loan out and pay it back over 15 years

I've worked, just never had anything serious. [ A summer job. Bleh. ]
Hopefully, I manage to get one. I don't know how the pre-order system is going to work, so I'm going to try to becareful so that I don't have to end up WAITING to get a system, even though I saved the money up.

hmm...sm64 was an historical breaktrough....i had to play it....no matter how pricey it was...
kidding aside, be mature enough to realize you don't have to get a PS3 on day one- if at all even. the longer you wait the cheaper it gets and the more games come out ofr it (and become 'greatest hit' bargins). I always save up till I can afford what I want. sometimes, what I want doesn't seem worth the price even when I do save up.
damn 50" Bravia X! I hate you!

I have a job and I have already saved up some money for it (meaning the cost of the console, warranty, and about 6 games, maybe more depending on how many interests me).http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v500/EvilTaru/gladtomeetya.gif

What does being 'mature' have to do with wanting it when it launches, or not? I'm not going to argue the idea of what's mature or not.
But I definitely don't think I'm being immature by wanting the Playstation 3 when it launches instead of waiting. If I've got the money, I don't see what's stopping me, or anyone else.

Not by swapping my PS2 + 85 PS2 games, that's for sure! That's the deal to get it free at our local Kiwi EB.
Mr Visa of course...
Also my local EB can get bent for PS3 games...
Probable price of PS3 games = 129 NZD (What 360 games cost)
That's... 85 US DOLLARS!!!
I'll be buying from tronix, dvdboxoffice, and the rest.
yoshaw
09-17-2006, 09:49 AM
Apple, can't you get videogame deals in NZ on amazon like how you get cheap Bluray movies from there? USD$85 is too steep for a game price!
Applefiend
09-17-2006, 09:59 AM
Yup, shocking isn't it? No game is worth $85.
Amazon now refuse to send US video games abroad, in the good old days they'd send out US PS1 games with no problems. Shame, amazon have some of the best deals around. They sent BDs anywhere thankfully.
Your options are...
1 - Mail relay, fake US address that bounces packages to whatever address around the world you want. Veeeery useful, but very involved. All legal! I'm investigating this to nab some of the better deals.
You can virtually live in the US these days. US phone number with Skype, US mail address, US credit card, everything. Neato.
2 - Tronix - http://www.tronixweb.com/
Ship anywhere. Good prices, lots of shipping options.
3 - DVDBoxoffice
http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/
Canadian fellas, will ship absolutely anything anywhere, but they jack up the prices. Their "free" postage is nothing of the sort. But good to know about.
4 - Liksang
http://www.lik-sang.com/
Probably the best service of the three, but are best for japanese releases, not US stuff.
5 - Ebay
Always
I'm going with Tronix for my PS3 games. US retail prices they cram 4 into a package. $10 to $20 postage on the package. Much cheaper and faster.
Ahhh, I live for video game deals and coupons. :)

Yeah, important thing is to get to know your local customs service. Some of them leave airmail alone but charge for courier. Others let boxes go through but mess with packages. Other let stuff go through if it's marked with "gift" or "merchandise".
Sony got my undying love when they made PS3 region free. Work it! get your games cheaper and sooner.
