I would like to know how the 360 & PS3 versions are different, because if the PS3 version is significantly better I will not purchase this title on the 360...

looks very good. Sports is one of the genre I am very excited to see on next-gen due to the level of 'convincing' they can achieve compared to other genre.

to think I'll be playing with such quality with my mortal hands...

I just played the 360 2K7 demo and here's my impressions.
Visually the game has received a few enhancements:
Coaches are on par with player models
Court crowd and refs look significantly better
Hair improved. (they still seem to struggle with hair!)
Many additional animations added (animations are impressive!)

Gameplay enhancements:
AI seems to have improved
Great pace of game feels very realistic
Impressive animations and the dynamic camera catches the action well
presentation value has slightly improved (truely emulates NBA broadcast)

Overall opinions:
If you enjoyed 2K6 it's more of the same with all the polish that should have went into that title. 2K7 is virtually the same game visually with a few enhancements. The player models look impressive overall, but some of the players still look down right scary (missing links). Resulting in a odd visual package, it's like the expression, "sneak up on you ugly". From a distance and screenshots the game looks amazing, but actual gameplay still looks a little off I think it's the textures... The PS3 title could look significantly better if HD textures are used on the player models!

The gameplay is impressive and the game plays significantly better than 2k6 and flows like a real NBA game. The game appears to have a good balance of offense and defense, but if you are looking for a fast paced dunk fest you may want to roll with NBA live. If you are looking for the next best thing to actually getting off your ass and playing basketball it looks like 2K7 will deliver.

Based on my comments regarding the visuals, I will more than likely wait for the PS3 version to see if better textures are used to increase visual quality. Peace

That's really cool that the coaches are on par with the player models. I'm not suprised that the gameplay seems realistic. The 2K series is an excellent baller simulation series.

The 2k basketball series is the only sports game worth a purchase as far as Im concerned.
