Not bad looking. I just want to know what kinda story it will involve. If its the original far cry, already played through it on pc.

It's not the original, DC. Ubi confirmed it's inspired by Far Cry Instincts Evolution but with new maps, weapons, story bit and more.

One thing I noticed is that FC IP on 360 is pretty much the same graphically as FC I on original xbox, but with heaps better water. The graphics on Wii should look pretty decent.

At IGN, the developer commented that the Wii is more powerful then the Xbox, yet the Xbox can do more then the Wii in some area's. What exact does that mean do you think? That tge Xbox's GPU is better then the Wii GPU, or what?

No, more in terms of graphical effects, e.g. shaders, lighting, etc.

Then did the Wii go backwards in time, because the GCN was actually pretty good at that type of stuff.

Some of these Wii game screenshots look like PSP graphics.

it goes to IGN. i dont like to do this but i'm too lazy to steal their pics and post them up.
doesnt look too bad. i'm sure they could have done more with the graphics but are probably more concerned trying to get the controls good. coz frankly, since Wii is supposed to be about gameplay, if its not good then people arent going to want it.

I assume they're talking about programmable shaders, of which Wii has none (assuming the graphics architecture is as similar to GC as wii've been led to believe).
Please note that the same effects accomplished with custom shaders can be more or less replicated through multi-pass textures, an area in which GC and presumably Wii excell. If you're a graphics builder working on Wii, you'll need to exert a little effort and ingenuity (and actually read the official design document distributed by Nintendo) to make games appear like they have custom shaders written for them.
It looked really nice when someone took the time to do it right on GC. MP:Echoes is one example that comes to mind.

Wow, that guy has to have the ugliest hands I've ever seen in a game. And I'm not just restricting that to human characters.

well i dunno . From this game it def looks a step under the xbox version.
However i will give them the benfit of the doubt that it is a launch title .
The lack of shaders really changes the look
pretty sure that second above picture isn't wii...due to the press x thing in the top left of it

^He didn't say it was a Wii shot. Look above the picture.
But, yea, this is one fugly-mugly game (It really doesn't look much better than Medal of Honor: Heroes for PSP). But, I'm still going to get it since it seems to be the best choice when it comes to FPS launch titles on the Wii (Red Steel looks used and uninteresting). Besides, if Far Cry let's me down, I'll always have hours upon hours of Twilight Princess to fall back on. :thumbl:

The Wii version looks like it's getting the typical GC treatment we saw with most multi-console ports the past few years. Obviously this isn't Ubi's top dev team working on this, but really, they should take a look at Zelda Wii (developed on GC) and be ashamed of themselves. As I mentioned above, pretty much all shader effects can be imitated with mulitple texture passes, and those textures would be bad even for a GC game. It looks like they opted to use some old, badly-ported GC FPS engine rather than rework the awesome CryTek engine for Wii.
Usually when I hear about screenshots getting "leaked" I just roll my eyes, but in this case I'm thinking it might actually be true. I just can't imagine Ubi--a publisher known to doctor up pre-release photos and videos--would allow these to be seen. Hopefully these are very, VERY preliminary screens that really were leaked by accident. :)
Thanks to nemesis for posting the last-gen screenshots alongside the Wii screens for comparison.

Now your gong to say the cube isn't the wii... however it relaly is . Its just a more powerfull wii .
I bet this farcry game was made in not even a year or so as to make launch

It's obvious that they just ported over the assets from the Xbox version, tweaked em and created new levels, etc... similar to what the EA Wii team did with Madden Wii.
my bad on tha tone, i just saw the wii above the top pic...anyways, thats bullshit then, in the interview they said the wii was more powerful and they knew that and it would be at least on par with the xbox, the xbox build looks signicantly better though.
