dude do you have MGS2' and or MGS1 ost? Because I can't find 'em and I'm not buyin' 'em.I bought 1, 2 and 3 on eBay. I've got yet to buy the MPO one, and now that I've finished it and I loved the ending theme (Calling to the Night), I'll have to buy it soon. All of them were 2 disc sets, I think.

I also bought FFX (4 discs) and Devil May Cry 1 OST around the same time. I ended up buying more than 10 CDs for less than $100, all brand new and sealed.

Nah, I have the NES version (for my birthday when I turned 16 or so, my friend gave me the NES version of Metal Gear in the box with the map & stuff), and it's not the same. A little bit of it is similar, but the MSX has that definitive Metal Gear feel, while the NES one definitely does not.

Well last week on the KP report they said that MGS4 still wasn't confirmed for E3. So could this mean no MGS4 next?:shifty: Though I doubt it. This could mean we might get a demo by the end of the month.

Maybe they're keeping the major final MGS4 trailer and/or demo for TGS (which is just two months away) while we'll only see something like another teaser at E3. However, if there's going to be a demonstration later this month, I'd be surprised if it wasn't ready now and in time for E3 next week.

If MGS4 has indeed been delayed until 2008, I could understand that we wouldn't see too much of it next week in benefit of TGS. However, the next PSM is going to have MGS4 on their next cover, so...

I know what you mean liquid, i remember playing MGS1 back on the ps. such fun :) i was really young and didnt really understand some of the more complicated things and i hadnt plays MG1 and 2 but damn it was an awesome game, i played the demo before the full game, and i play it over and over finding new ways to get to the elevator ^^ given there was only a few different way haha, but it was so cool.

I remember saving that demo for last after playing all the other demos on the disc because I thought it was going to suck (I thought it was a remake of Metal Mech for NES, I had the titles confused :laugh:). I remember panicking when I got to the first guard and I beat the shit out of him and ran to the elevator, and when I finished the demo I walked slowly out of my room into the living room where my brother was on the computer and I was like, "dude, Chris, this demo is the most amazing thing I've ever played. You have to check it out!" I was just in complete awe at how tense I was the whole time I was playing. I was so relieved when the demo ended because I was tensing up too much! And that, folks, is how I got into Metal Gear :-D

MGS2 is controversial among the fans, I'll give you that, but MGS3 is a work of art. Most of the Cobra unit is there for the sake of gameplay, but everything else was just what a MGS fan could have possibly wanted for a proper telling of the origins of the series, and the ending and overall the last hour was: =-o

MPO also has an excellent storyline that fills the gaps between the origins and the later events in the series.

MGS3 is the best in the series so far. Play it, beat it, then take a good day or so just to let things really settle in, and you'll most likely come to the same conclusion if your love for MGS1 isn't complete sentimental value. I loved MGS1 as much as the next guy, but Kojima & team, like any good developer/artist, have progressed and gotten better at their craft, and MGS3 shows that. Of course, MGS4 shows that too, and I have little doubt at all that it'll be the best in the series, therefore making it the finest game ever made.

I'm trying to make my way through it, but I need to finish FFVI Advanced first, and I'm right at the end of that! I think it says quite a bit about how terrible I am at playing portable games and making the time for them when I haven't even finished a frickin' METAL GEAR on a portable system.

the problem with OP is that I can't get into the games without controlling the camera, and that is out of the question in PSP. that and I just couldn't get the controls nailed. I get murdered every time I try to get someone to join me. I may just pass up on the whole concept in favor of the game overall.

I played on normal difficulty and the controls were fine to me most of the time. Sometimes it's a bit tough to play, but practise makes perfection.

What's cool about MPO is that even though the budget is obviously lower than the one PS2 MGS games got, it still feels very much like a proper Metal Gear Solid game, despite the portable approach. It's also longer and more varied than I expected. And I still haven't played the online mode!

To be honest, I haven't tried yet because I'm no fan of online multiplayer, but since all PSPs are the same worldwide, there's a chance there's no incompatibility or that there's no regional restriction. However, the European version of the game has more content and the online code might be somewhat different, so dunno.

We should gather a few PSINexters and give it a try :-p I also really need to try Subsistence's online mode before they shut the European servers down. Can the maps be played offline against bots or something?

Sorry, but I don't think those figures are accurate at all or even up to date in the slightest. MGS1 sold over 6 million. MGS2 on PS2 alone sold over 7 million, no idea about the PC or Xbox versions, although it flopped on Xbox. MGS3 Snake Eater had sold 3.75 million units months before MGS3 Subsistance was released, and Subsistence sold more than 100K in Japan in the first week. Those three figures are very off.

They pretty much covered everything in terms of content but the conference itself was a bit soft in terms of not exactly generating any kind of massive excitement.

Sony needs to do what they did at GDC with Little Big Planet and Home because at that show, with LBP, they literally hit a homerun, and at this E3 they FINALLY have the first-party line-up to do it. If anything I think it's about high time they stop wasting valuable conference time on EA multiplatform games and just come out with all the exclusive stuff, whether it's the first-party stuff and whatever third-party titles they're planning for this year and the next. If publishers like Koei or Namco-Bandai don't want to play, screw them, instead give time to third-party and first-party stuff that are true to the console, stuff that Sony really should highlight because those are the software that really help the platform, help the partners that are there to help you out by giving their games the necessarily exposure. The days of allotting multiplatform time should have been over a long time ago, E3 conference should be about exclusive and showing people the difference.

Most of all they need to make the atmosphere fun, which is what they did at GDC, the MS conference was dull and the suits seemed like a bunch of assholes. They pretty much covered everything in terms of content but the conference itself was a bit soft in terms of not exactly generating any kind of massive excitement.

Sony needs to do what they did at GDC with Little Big Planet and Home because at that show, with LBP, they literally hit a homerun, and at this E3 they FINALLY have the first-party line-up to do it. If anything I think it's about high time they stop wasting valuable conference time on EA multiplatform games and just come out with all the exclusive stuff, whether it's the first-party stuff and whatever third-party titles they're planning for this year and the next. AC6 is exclusive.Even when it was first announced, the OXM issue that revealed it stated that it wouldn't be completely exclusive. Whether that's completely true or not I don't know

In any case, if it ends up being exclusive somehow, it might happen the same as with Ridge Racer. AC6 for 360, AC7 for PS3, but I think it would be much cheaper for Namco to simply port AC6 when it's done, if they aren't already.

Really, the AC fan base is entirely on . Namco might want to explore new territory on Xbox, but they're not going to ignore where the series were born and became successful. Seven Ace Combat titles have been released on Playstation platforms and more should be coming.
